Go to Back Office, Inventory.

Start new inventory.

Name inventory, insert call # range, click OK.

Confirm start.

Use Destiny InHand to scan barcodes in designated range.

• Press red button to turn on.• Press InHand icon [if not displayed, put in service

call to tech department]. When tech dept. reinstalls InHand, select InHand icon, go to top left corner black rectangle (“InHand”), choose Options and select General. Place check next to Follet (sic) Barcodes (12 of 5). Press Done.

• Press black “In Hand” rectangle displayed in upper left corner of screen, then “clear inventory”.

• Confirm yes to delete all barcodes.

• Press “Inventory”.

• Start to scan. If a barcode does not scan, enter it manually.– Press Add.– Write it on 1-2-3 half of entry pad.

– Alternatively, press the 1-2-3 corner to get a number keypad and enter the barcode number.

– Press Done.

• When you have uploaded approx. 1,000 barcodes, mark the place on the shelf that you have stopped and turn off the InHand.

• Place InHand into its cradle.

• Push the synchronization button (bottom right side, opposite green power light).

• It should synchronize within a short time (less than a minute). If it continues indefinitely to say it is synchronizing, put in a service request with the tech department.

Ready to upload files – click browse.

Browse for DestinyInHand on c: drive and open folder.

Open “inventory” file inside DestinyInHand folder.

Click Upload.

Note whether all the barcodes were read and whether any were skipped.

Use “Find on this page” or just scroll to find “Skipped.”

Copy the title before and the title after the skipped file. Paste these

copied segments into a Word document and print for your

convenience while searching for the skipped item.

When all “unaccounted for” items have been thoroughly searched for and uploaded,

finalize inventory.

Indicate that you want to mark unaccounted for items as lost. If

you later scan them through circulation, a note will appear that they had previously been marked as lost, and the lost designation will disappear.
