3.Nowthatyourprojectisopen,youwillseethatthereare10pagesavailable.Youwillwanttodelete8ofthemsoyouonlyhave2pagesleft.Youcandeletepagesbyselectingthepageyouwishtodeletedowninthethumbnailpreviewsatthebottomofyoursoftware,rightclicking,andchoosingDeletePage.

4.Removethetrimarea.Thistrimareaisforourprintingservicesandsinceyouareprintingathome,thesewillnotapplytoyou.RemovethemfromtheViewmenuatthetopofyoursoftware.

5.Inordertocreateacardyouwillneed4differentsectionstocreatethe4sidesofyourcard:frontcover,insideleftside,insiderightside,andthebackcover.Tocreatethese4sections,add1verticalpageguideinthemiddleofeachofyour2pagestocreate2equalsectionsperpage.Toaddpageguides,clickontheViewmenuonthetopofyoursoftwareandchooseManagePageGuides…

6.Addahorizontalguidelineatinchline5.5.Theguidelinewillautomaticallyappearonbothofyour2pages.

7.Nowthatyourpagesaresplitinto2sectionseach,designyoursectionsusingthetabsintheControlPanellocatedontherighthandsideofthesoftware.Note:Becauseofthewayyouaregoingtofoldyourprojectafterprinting,youwillneedtodesignyoursectionsinaspecificorder:Section1–BackcoverSection2–FrontcoverSection3–Inside,leftpageSection4–Inside,rightpageIhavenumberedthesectionshereasareference.

Toaddadifferentbackgroundtoeachsection,insteadofusingtheBackgroundstabintheControlPanel,youwillwanttousetheShapes&Linestab.Choosetherectangleshapeandmakeittheexactsizeofyoursection.

ThenusethePapericonintheShapes&Linestabtofillitwiththebackgroundyouwouldlikeforthatsection.

9.Onceyouarefinisheddesigningyoursections,itistimetoexportthemtoprint.OpentheSharetabintheControlPanelandchoosetheExporticon.Note:ThepageguideswillNOTappearonyourexportedpages.

10.Ifalloftheexportsettingslookcorrect,chooseExport.

Afteritisdoneexporting,youwillreceiveanotificationofcompletionincludingareminderofwhereyou’veexportedyourproject.

11.Printtheexportedpage1fromyourcomputer.Afteritprints,flipthepageoverandputitbackinyourprintertoprinttheexportedpage2.Makesureyouknowwhichwayyourprinterprintssothattheimagesdon’tprintupsidedowncomparedtothefirstpageyouprinted.Ifyouhaveadoublesidedprintingoptiononyourprinterthatwouldworkaswell.

12.Makeaverticalfoldinthemiddleofyourprojectsonowyouareonlylookingatthefrontandbackcovers,withtheinsidepagesbehindthem,andyou’refinished!
