How to Create an Effective Study Plan
• Block out fixed blocks of time first
- when you are in class, at work, organizational meetings, church, etc.
Step 1
• Study the most difficult or boring subject first
• Write down the order at the bottom of your study plan
Step 2
Step 3
• Start with Monday and plan to study every subject Mon-Thurs
• Ask yourself, “When is the first hour of the day that I can realistically start studying or doing homework?”
• Make sure it is the subject that will take the most amount of energy to complete
• Create consistency throughout the week
• Try to make Monday’s study schedule look like Wednesday’s
Step 4
• Create one or two more study day(s) (for an hour or 30 mins) for each subject during the weekend
• You can choose how to spread that out!
Step 5
• Make sure each subject is following Golden Rule # 1 and 2
• Fill in at the bottom how many DAYS/week and HOURS/week are you studying for each subject – Keep it neat!
Step 6
• Print a copy of your completed study plan each week
• Keep track of what week it is and cross off items as you complete each 30 MINUTE study session
Step 7
• Revaluate the study plan after every test
• Based on your effort and your test score
