1. In the Finder, select the Go menu > Connect to Server

Wireless PrintingFor Mac OS X 10.7 and above

2. Ensure you are connected to the Avondale network (see wifi instructions) and type the following in the Server Address field: smb://LMPR0801.avondale.edu.au

3. Sign in as pictured, with your Avondale username and password, and click ‘Connect’.

Make sure to type avondale\ before your student number and tick the ‘Remember this password in my keychain’ boxYes, that’s a back slash (look under the ‘delete’ key on your keyboard).

4. Select PCClient from the list of volumes and click OK.

For students, this is your student number including the ‘s’ and Avondale password. For staff, this is your Avondale Staff username and password.

6. Double-click the file titled ‘MAC DRIVER.dmg’.

5. Double-click the folder titled ‘mac’.

7. Double-click the file titled ‘Fuji Xerox PS Plug-in Installer.pkg’. This will install the printer drivers onto your Macintosh. You will need local administrator rights to do this.

8. Click ‘Continue’.

9. Read the User Agreement, click ‘Continue’ and click ‘Agree’ if you agree with the licence agreement.

10. Click ‘Install’ to install the Fuji Xerox Print Drivers.

11. Type in your computer password.

12. Click ‘Close’ once the software has installed.

You may also eject the Installer file from the Finder at this point:

13. In the Finder, double-click the ‘client-local-install’ located in the same folder as the driver you just installed.

NOTE: If you previously had the Avondale Print Queue set up on your computer, you may need to delete the old Papercut Client (PCClient) from your Applications folder before installing the new one.

NOTE: The next step may take up to 60 seconds to appear.

14. Sign in as pictured, with your Avondale username and password, and click ‘OK’.

15. A window should appear as pictured displaying your print credit balance.

You may now eject the ‘PCClient’ share and ‘Fuji Xerox Installer’ from the Finder.

16. Open System Preferences ( menu > System Preferences) and select ‘Printers & Scanners’ (or ‘Print & Fax’ on older systems).

17. Click the icon to add a new printer.

18. Right-click (hold the control key and click) on the menu bar and select “Customise Toolbar”.

19. Drag the ‘Advanced’ icon onto the toolbar and click ‘Done’.

20. Click the Advanced icon and configure exactly as follows:

Type: Windows printer via spoolss

URL: smb://LMPR0801.avondale.edu.au/MyPrintQueue

Rename to: MyPrintQueue

Click ‘Select Software...”

21. Type the numbers: 475 into the search box, select the item pictured and click OK.

22. Click ‘Add’.

23. The options pictured should appear. Configure as follows, then press OK.

To choose between colour and black & white, select Image Options and edit the Output Color.

If you followed these instructions and still cannot print, please visit the Tech Services service counter located in the Turner building on the Lake Macquarie Campus.

Make sure the Papercut Client (PCClient) is running when you print. If it is not, open it from your Applications folder.

We understand that setting up wireless printing can be a lengthy process, for which we apologise.

PRINTING TIPSFor Mac OS X 10.7 and above

NOTE: If ‘Color’ is selected, you will be charged for colour even if what you are printing is black & white.

When printing for the first time, a box should appear as pictured. Sign in with your Avondale username and password, and click OK.

Tick the ‘Remember this password’ in my keychain’ box

Hole punching & stapling features are available on some printers. Select ‘Fuji Xerox Features’ to use these functions.

For students, this is your student number including the ‘s’ and Avondale password. For staff, this is your Avondale Staff username and password.
