2. Multipurpose Room• Located adjacent to Black Box � eater• Flexible design allows for use as � eater seating

area or as a separate program area• Stepped audience seating or 30” high stage

recommended for best sightlines• Stepped audience seating minimizes facility set-up time • Acoustic separation between rooms makes

simultaneous use with � eater di� cult• Audio/Video scope TBD with users

3. Lobby and Lounge areas• � e double-height glass Lobby and adjacent open

Lounge areas are intended to serve as the point of arrival. Its open views to the Courtyard and corridors will orient visitors and the so� seating in the Lounge will provide activity and social interaction areas.

4. Art Studio/Theater Arts• Used as backstage area for � eater set

design and as an art classroom• Requires both backstage access to Black

Box � eater and to public corridor• Grade II strip wood � oor recommended

for nailing theater sets• Large utility sink with plaster trap required• Loading dock for material deliveries

5. Classrooms• Classrooms are located on the � rst and second � oors

with direct access to natural light and views outdoors• Size diversity recommended (full size classrooms seating

32-40 and seminar rooms seating 10-20) TBD with users• Type of instruction (distance learning, etc.) TBD with users• Display technology TBD with users• A/V and IT requirements TBD with users• 27”x60” desk module

6. Music classrooms• Located on � rst � oor to minimize sound

transmission through metal deck• Enclosed with two separate 4” concrete

masonry walls to dampen sound transmission between rooms (minimum STC-70)
