How to Become a Dog Trainer

DESCRIPTION

I have seen many large dogs accompany their owners on a long jog, but it is more painful than pleasurable for some smaller dogs. Small dogs need more care of their owners and get exercise as well however; this exercise has to be specific one. If you are an avid jogger, your petite pooch would appreciate riding in a pet stroller instead of trying to keep up with you.

Another great use for a pet stroller is when you visit a dog show; it keeps your dog safe and comfortable while among other canines and also allows them to sniff fresh air.

Great for a large city environment as it will protect your dog from the many feet on the sidewalk that might not see your small dog and it will also protect their paws from the hot sidewalk, deep snow or even dangerous debris scattered about.

When you are shopping for your small pet stroller, take into account that the “weight limit” stated is the weight that the frame of the stroller can hold and NOT an indication of the weight of the dog that will fit comfortably in the space of the compartment. If you have any question about whether your dog will fit into a specific stroller; create a space on the floor that is equal to the width and length of the stroller and see if your pet can comfortably stand, sit, curl up and turn around comfortably with the dimensions given.

1. Once your stroller purchase is completed; place the pet stroller inside your home and open for your dog to sniff and investigate for themselves. Remember to engage the wheel lock mechanism so it doesn’t move and startle your pet while they are familiarizing themselves with the stroller. 2. Now that your pet loves the stroller, before going right outdoors – just wheel the stroller (with your dog inside) near a window or door to allow them to make the association that the stroller equals going outside.

3. The first few trips outside should be in a quiet and uncrowned area to allow your dog to get used to the moving stroller without hectic environmental intrusions.

4. Just like a human baby, your pup has a favorite blanket and it gives them a sense of security and safety knowing that they have it near (within the stroller) and it also provides an opportunity to hide or get some privacy if they desire.
