HOW TO APPLY

Before applying, candidates are advised to go through the eligibility criteria and other

provisions in the advertisement and ensure that they are eligible to appear for the

post(s).

To register, candidates should possess:

a valid e-mail ID and Mobile No, which should remain valid for at least twoyears.

latest passport size coloured photograph as well as photograph of ownsignature in digital format (.jpg or jpeg file only, each less than 500 kb size)for uploading with the application. Candidates are advised to preserve thesame till the recruitment process is complete.

FLOW CHART FOR ON LINE REGISTRATION:

Registration has to be done in 2 stages: in the first stage candidate has to fill up theApplication Form and print bank challan; in the second stage, after paying therequisite fee in State Bank of India(SBI) branch, candidate has to fill up the paymentdetails in the application portal.

Stage-1

1. Go to www.sail.co.in

2. Click on link Careers with SAIL at bottom left of the webpage.

3. Click on Jobs at Sail (or directly on SAIL Cadre) and then on RSP.

4. Click on the post for which you want to apply

5. Read the information regarding the job carefully and then click Apply Now

6. Enter your Email Id and password (Remember this email id and password for

future transactions).

7 Fill-in all the information as required in the application form.

8 Click Preview Application.

9. If any field has been left blank / not filled properly or a condition/eligibility criteriaas specified in the advertisement is not met, relevant message will appear on theright side of the field. Unless the error is rectified, registration will not be

complete.

10 In the Preview Application page, check all the information filled. If you want tochange any information, you can edit; if the information filled by you is correct,click Apply. Once submitted, no change can be made.

11 Click on menu SBI Challan to obtain the Bank Challan. Take a printout byclicking on the print icon on the page. Any other challan or payment formatis not admissible.

Payment of Fee:

12. Pay the Application / Processing fee as applicable to you in a branch of StateBank of India(SBI) during working hours. On receipt of the money theconcerned branch of SBI will issue a unique Journal Number and the BranchCode of the Bank which has to be filled up during online registration.

Stage-2:

13. Come back to SAIL website www.sail.co.in, link Careers with SAIL and clickon Login on the right side of the page with Heading Registered applicant.

14. Enter Email ID and password which you have used earlier for filling up theapplication form.

15. Click on Confirm Payment.

16. Enter the details - Branch Code, Journal No. and Date of Deposit - in theonline form and submit. A printout of Registration slip may be taken.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

A. Fields marked with red asterix(*) are compulsory fields.

B. Candidates must enter 2 (two) Educational Qualifications:

i. Matric

ii. Diploma in Engineering, if applying for post of Operator-cum-Technician(Trainee) OR

ITI, if applying for post of Attendant-cum-Technician (Trainee)

C. There is no relaxation for Departmental Candidates (i.e. candidates currentlyemployed in SAIL). As such all candidates may choose option No for thefield Departmental Candidate. If chosen Yes, fields like Name of Plant,Employee No., Date of Joining and Grade shall be activated which are notrequired to be filled.

D. Fourdifferentcities out of the seven choices given may be chosen, inorder of preference, as City Centres in the fields City Centre-1,2,3 & 4.

E. Some fields like Marks Obtained, Total Marks, Percentage of Disability (ifPWD) accept only numeric characters, i.e. numbers (0 to 9). Specialcharacters ( like % or - ) or letters (A,b) are not be filled in such fields.

F.Ensure that the photographs being uploaded are in .jpg or jpeg file formatand size of each picture is less than 500 kb.
