BEFORE YOU START

It will take 30-60 minutes to complete your online application You can log in and out of the online application system once you have started your application.

Enable pop-ups from the Murdoch University website

Pop-ups can be configured in your internet browser settings.

Ensure personal details are entered correctly:

Legal name

This must match the name on your birth certificate / passport / driver’s license

Email Address

This should be an email address that you check regularly. All correspondence will be sent via email.

Mobile number

This can be used to reset your Murdoch Password once you have been accepted into OnTrack. If you do not

have a fast or reliable internet connection, we recommend that you provide a mobile phone number so that

you can reset your password if required.

Prepare your documentation

Category OnTrack

Citizenship

All OnTrack programs are open to:

Australian Citizens

New Zealand Citizens

Australian Permanent Residency and Humanitarian Visa holders

Age

All adults are age eligible – whether you just celebrated your 18th or 80th birthday – all ages are welcome! If you are under the age of 18, you must have either completed Year 12 or turned at least 17 and 6 months before 1st January in the year you will undertake OnTrack.

Readiness

To demonstrate readiness to study please provide documents that show your highest level of academic achievement.

Please provide one (or more) of the following documents:

Category 1: High School Results

Completed Year 11 or Year 12 and achieved ‘B’ or higher in General English OR ‘D’ or higher in ATAR English

Category 2: TAFE results

Certificate IV (any) OR Certificate III (any) OR Certificate II in General Education for Adults

Category 3: STAT results (this option is available for people who are 20+ years old)

Written component: 130 or higher Multiple choice: 125 or higher

Category 4: OnTrack Readiness Evaluation Sessions If you haven't studied in a while, or you didn't get the grades you were hoping for, you can demonstrate your readiness without any formal qualifications! Simply submit your online application using this guide and you will be contacted by email with all the information you need to book a session. Please check your junk and spam folders regularly for Murdoch emails.

Healthcare Card

All applications for Semester 1 should be submitted via TISC. If you are experiencing financial hardship, we are able to waive the application fees by allowing you to apply directly to Murdoch.

Simply follow this guide and upload a copy of your healthcare card with your documentation.

All Semester 2 applications are submitted directly to Murdoch.

Submitting your documentation

How do I submit my documentation? All documentation must be scanned and submitted with your online application.

Accepted File Formats There is a size limit of 10MB for each document uploaded (This size limit is only applicable for document type: ‘Other Document’ in Step 11 of the Online Application Process)

Documents less than 10MB in size Any document over 10MB in size

PDF files: If possible, please convert all files to PDF. Other picture files (eg JPEG / PNG) are acceptable but must be reduced to less than 10MB in size.

Word documents containing pictures These cannot be uploaded and will create an error alert.

Do I need to have my documents certified? Check your circumstances here:

Scan your original documents in colour and upload them with your OnTrack application.

Scan your certified documents in black & white and upload them with your OnTrack application

Who can certify my documents?

In Australia, the following people are authorised to certify documents:

• Student Centre staff at Murdoch University • The Admissions Office or Student Administration of any Australian university • The administration office of any TAFE College • Western Australian Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC), Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre, South Australian Admissions Centre, Universities Admissions Centre (NSW and ACT), or Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre • Anyone who is currently employed as a Justice of the Peace; Commissioner of Declarations; bank manager or credit union branch manager; barrister, solicitor or patent attorney; pharmacist; police officer of a police station or of the rank of sergeant and above; medical practitioner; postal manager; principal of an Australian secondary college, high school or primary school; psychologist; or accountant (who is a member of the Institute of Charted Accountants in Australia, CPA Australia, National Institute of Accountants, Association of Taxation and Management Accountants, or a Registered Tax Agent).

Part 1: Create an Applicant ID

Step 1 of 5:

Go to https://myadmission.murdoch.edu.au/connect/webconnect

Click ‘Start Your Application’:

Step 2 of 5:

Enter your details and click ‘Continue’

When you have entered a valid email address and password, this screen will appear:

Note: If you have previously applied to Murdoch

University, you may already have an Applicant

ID – click the ‘Forgotten Your Details Button’

button to receive an email containing your user

name and password.

Step 3 of 5:

Check your email acount.

You will receive an email from Murdoch Online Applications with your User ID and Password.

To begin your application, click the link within the email you receive.

Step 4 of 5:

Enter your Applicant ID and Password and click ‘Login’

If you do not receive a confirmation email, please check your junk / spam folder. You will need to mark the

email as ‘not junk / spam’ to ensure that you receive future emails from the Murdoch Online Applications System.

Step 1 of 12:

Enter your details and click ‘Continue’

Step 2 of 12:

a. Select citizenship type: tick one only

Note: International Students are not eligible for OnTrack

Note: Personal details must be correct to ensure you

receive correspondence from Murdoch University.

b. Indicate if you have previously studied at Murdoch University.

c. Enter details in all relevant fields and click ‘ Save and Continue’

If you do not wish to choose any access and equity categories simply select Save & Continue.

Step 3 of 12:

Select ‘Enabling’

Select ‘OnTrack’ and click ‘Show Courses’

Note: Please ensure that you APPLY FOR ONTRACK.

Do not apply for the course you wish to study after OnTrack.

Select the campus you wish to attend and click ‘Save and Continue’

Select when you plan to commence the course and click ‘Save and Continue’

Select the OnTrack Unit Set and click ‘Save and Continue’

Check that details are correct and click ‘Save and Continue’

Please select either ‘Yes’ (additional fields will appear for you to complete) or ‘No’.

Notes for Step 4 of 12:

This question is designed for students who completed Year 12 with an ATAR / TER Score (or equivalent), it does not

allow applicants to record any other high school results.

If you are not sure how to answer this question, please check your circumstances here:

I finished Year 12 and received an ATAR

Click ‘Yes’ and enter your school details and score

Upload your Year 12 transcript / results at Step 9

I finished Year 12 but did not receive an ATAR

Click ‘Yes’, answer required fields and put ‘0’ for score.

Upload your Year 12 transcript / results at Step 9

I did not complete high school

Click ‘No’ and ‘Save and Continue’

Upload your school transcript / results at Step 9

Select Document type: Other Document

Click ‘Choose File’

A file browser will open – this is an example only as it may be different on your computer.

Select the file you wish to upload and click ‘Open’

Tips for easy document upload:

1. Separate your documents so that no single document is over 10MB in size

2. Save your documents in one folder so that you can upload them easily

3. Give each document a name to identify which one you are uploading

eg. Mary Poppins_Year 12 Results

The name of the document will now appear next to the ‘Choose File’ button. Click ‘Upload File’

The page will refresh and show the name of your document here. If you have selected the wrong file, click ‘Delete’

Upload additional documents using the same process.

Once you have uploaded all documents click ‘Save and Continue’

Step 10 of 12:

Please check all details are correct. If you need to make alterations please use the ‘Edit’ button in the section you

wish to update. When everything is correct, scroll to the bottom of the page and click ‘ Save and Continue’.

Step 11 of 12:

Read and Click ‘Accept’ Declaration

Step 12 of 12:

Click ‘SUBMIT APPLICATION’

You have now completed your OnTrack application!

What happens next?

I have submitted my application for OnTrack (N1069) with all of my documents Murdoch Admissions will contact you via email if they need anything else to complete your application. Please ensure you check your junk/spam folders regularly for emails from Murdoch Oh no – I forgot to submit my documents! You can login and upload more documentation to your application if required – simply log in, upload the documents and submit them. I need to change/update some information in my application Send your request to [email protected] providing supporting documents if applicable. I want to book a Readiness Evaluation Admissions will review your documentation and contact you if you need to sit a readiness evaluation. Please submit your application and check your emails (including you spam/junk folders) regularly.
