How to Add YouTube Video(s)

to a Module in Canvas

1) Navigate to the module section

2) Click on the settings gear of the module to which you would like to add YouTube video(s) 3) Click on + Add Content

4) Click the dropdown and select External Tool

5) Select YouTube from the list of available tools

A Search YouTube window will appear.

6) Enter your query then hit the Enter key

7) Click Embed for the video you would like to add

NOTE: Changing the video type via the embed options from Embed to LTI Launch will not how the video is loaded.

A URL will appear in the URL window, do not change it.

The page name will default to the video’s title in YouTube. This can be changed if desired.

8) Click Add Item

You have now successfully added a video to your module.

9) When ready to share, publish both the module and video

To Add a YouTube Video to a Page 1) Navigate to the Page and click Edit

2) Click on the YouTube logo in the text editor

NOTE: If there are more than one LTI installed, click on More External Tools and select YouTube.

A Search YouTube window will appear.

3) Enter your query then hit the Enter key.

4) Click the title of the video you wish to add

The video options will now appear.

5) Click Embed to add video. Note the video information at the bottom of the page.

***OPTIONAL: Click the Embed options button to choose video size

6) Select a size

7) Once the video has been embedded, click Save. You have now successfully added a video to your page.

8) When ready to share, publish the page.
