You can access your NHS Mail Account from any personal device (iPad, Tablet, PC, laptop, Smart Phone etc), with network connectivity. Therefore you can access and process emails without the need for a Trust device. All staff are expected to continue to adhere to the Trust’s Information Governance Policy when accessing their NHS Mail accounts and Trust systems. 1. How to Access Your NHS Mail On Your Personal Device

Please note these instructions only apply to accessing your NHS Mail account using a internet

browser and does not allow you to download or save attached documents contained within an

email.

You can access your NHS Mail Account from any personal device (iPad, Tablet, PC, laptop, Smart

Phone etc), with network connectivity. Therefore you can access and process emails without the

need for a Trust device. All staff are expected to continue to adhere to the Trust’s Information

Governance Policy when accessing their NHS Mail accounts and Trust systems.

1. To access NHS Mail please click here or you can copy and paste the following internet address

into your internet browser https://portal.nhs.net/ Clicking on the link present with the internet

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I reset my password?

If you password has expired, you have forgotten it or your account is locked, you can contact the IT

Service Desk on 01296 315904/110 5904. The IT Service Desk will go through a number of security

questions before resetting your password. Please note: The IT Service Desk is open from 8am-6pm,

Monday to Friday and closed on Bank Holidays.

Alternatively as long as you have set up NHS Mail security questions and have a mobile number

associated to your NHS Mail account, you can use the NHS Mail self-service password reset.

1. To reset your password you need to click here and the page below will load. If this fails then

please copy and paste this link into your internet browser:

https://portal.nhs.net/ForgotPassword/

Please input your NHS Email Address and last 4 digits of your mobile phone number.

3. Provided you have entered the correct details, you will be presented with your security

questions. Please remember if you have any spaces in the answers to your security questions,

each space will count as a character.

4. Enter in a character in response to each answer.

5. If you have answered the security questions correctly, the following page will be displayed:

6. You will also receive a text from NHS Mail to your NHS Mail registered mobile phone with a

temporary password. The text will look like similar to this:

8. Enter your nhs.net account name and your temporary password.

9. The page below will load. Enter your nhs.net account name, temporary password and

create/confirm your new password.

10. Click on the Submit button.

11. Your NHS Mail password will now be reset, provided your new password meets the NHS Mail

criteria shown. In this instance you will be taken back to the login page. You will now be able to

log into your NHS Mail account using your new password.

Please note, for staff using multiple Trust issued devices such as laptops, iPads and mobile phones,

you will need to use your NEW password on each device when you access your NHS Mail.

Can I access Shared Mailboxes?

You can access shared mailboxes by following these steps:

1. Whilst in your NHS Mail account, click on the grey area by your name as shown below.

2. The box shown below will open and then select Open Another Mailbox.

3. You will then be presented with the box below.

4. Type in the name of the Shared Mailbox you wish to open:

5. If this is correct then click on the blue box containing the Shared Mailbox name

6. Click Open if you still wish to open the Shared Mailbox

7. The Shared Mailbox will open in a separate tab in your internet browser.

Please note, you can open multiple mailboxes at the same time as long as you open them from your

NHS Mail account.

Can I view archived emails?

Unfortunately you cannot access emails that have been archived to Mailsafe.
