Consumer Culture is the kingdom of man:

Poor in spirit

Poor in spirit, humble, trust in God, recognize spirit is weak without love of God

Arrogant, individualistic, see no need for God, want to be better than others (i.e. status)

Peacemaker

Peacemaker, trying to bring different groups of people together, never use violence

Violence to get what you want, starting conflict

Meek/gentle

Meek/gentle, sensitive to the needs of others, never use violence to get what they want, will stick up for the needs of others non-violently, power with (share one’s power)

Power over others, intimidation

Merciful/forgiving

Merciful/forgiving, giving second chances, not holding a grudge, willing to help another change for the better

No second chances, deserve what you get, focus on revenge

Mourn

Mourn, sad because they see the suffering in another and the suffering in the world and want to do something to comfort those suffering

Seek pleasure and avoid suffering, i.e. focus on entertainment and forget those in pain

Hunger and thirst for righteousness/justice

Hunger and thirst for righteousness/justice, see what is wrong in the world and commit oneself to work for justice

Hunger for $$$ and power, use others if benefits you.

Pure in Heart

Pure in Heart, always seeking what is best for the other, intentions are pure

Not committed, using other people

Persecuted for righteousness sake

Persecuted for righteousness sake, will work for justice without seek reward, will work for justice despite the fact you might get hurt, courage

Forget about injustice, pretend that everything is fine the way the world is.
