Software and workloads used in performance tests may have been optimized for performance only on Intel microprocessors. Performance tests, such as SYSmark and MobileMark, are measured using specific computer systems, components, software, operations and functions. Any change to any of those factors may cause the results to vary. You should consult other information and performance tests to assist you in fully evaluating your contemplated purchases, including the performance of that product when combined with other products.

• IT perceives that capability trumps
usability
• Cost of New software (product, licenses…)
• Focus on User Experience and User Interface reduces throughput
Hence, not many innovations
…..until now……

Parameters Should Be Visible
The parameter being passed should be visible on the screen in the main content area when the Side Panel is launched
Parameter passing may not be possible from a field that is absent from the main content area (it is possible to use the LSAPI API and modify the native transaction to pass the parameters)
e.g. Hidden field Within a tabis not visiblee.g.
Material Number clearly Visible

Not All Screen Actions are Actionable
Test to determine what is feasible:For some transactions not every click in the main content area is recognized as communication to the Side Panel. e.g. CO09 calls an external system and side panel disappears.
In txn VA03, clicking on a new line item will not result in a refresh of the material number passed to the Side Panel

Side Panel Can Call Another System
Requires Single Sign On and a Trust Relationshipto be established between the systems.

Parameters Cannot be Passed to Dynpros/Transactions
The Side Panel was not intended to host SAP Dynpro functionality, e.g. VA03, MM03, VL10. It is possible and our business sees value in the split screen view. It is not possible to pass parameters from the main content area to SAP Dynpro programs or transactions based on SAP Dynpro Programs.

Alternate Option for Dynpro/Dynpro Interaction
Develop a custom web dynpro application to provide targeted data within the side panel. Parameters can be passed to the custom web dynpro.
Side Panel contains additional information about the Purchase Order. Implemented as a custom Web Dynpro, instead of showing the Order Transaction VA03
