How do we BUZZ effectively?
What does BUZZING look like?
All members of the group can see each other. One person speaks at a time. The listeners look at the speaker. Members listen to understand what the
speaker is saying. When the speaker is finished talking, each
member shares thoughts or questions. The next member takes a turn.
READ ALOUD!
“The Two Brothers” by Leo Tolstoy
While I read, you should be:QuietSitting Up StraightListening to the story
Responding to the Story(Time to Buzz…) What were some of the advantages
of the younger brother going into the forest? What were some of the disadvantages?
Which brother do you identify with more? Why?
This story contains many proverbs: “A bird in the hand is
worth two in the bush.” “Beneath a stone no
water flows.” “He who is afraid of the
leaves must not go into the forest.”
“In seeking great happiness small pleasures may be lost.”
