Anonymous 2 upvotes by Sweta Shrivastava and Anonymous Capgemini India is degrading day by day. Once it used to be good company but now the company is focused only on revenue collection nothing else. Company is acquiring mostly maintenance project where there is no life for the employees working. In those projects company is not bothered of your actual skill and capability. You are only a resource that's it. No team outing no any kind of remuneration like bonus, team outing etc. The company is having tag line : "People matter, result count" But this tag line is just like dead sea where the name of sea is 'dead see' but it had a quality that no one sinks in the water because of its density. Similarly here People doesn't matter , only revenue collection matter. I have closely seen this company so there are many thing to speak, but i would only say that really this company is of no worth in employee perspective. However only a few are lucky to get some better project in this organization. There are full of ambiguity in capgemini policy: 1. When a fresher is hired/ interviewed at 1 location and immediately asked to move to other city location no relocation charge is provided. 2. When fresher and experienced person gets release from project and based on requirement or availability of project he/she is being asked to relocate to other city location then on that time mostly relocation charge is not provided. And there is relocation policy document which if you follow then your new manager will black mail you that if you will ask for relocation charge then he/ she will reject you to give that offer and employee cant do anything in it, contacting with HR will never work.

Capgemini India is degrading day by day

Once it used to be good company but now the company is focused only on revenue collection nothing else Company is acquiring mostly maintenance project where there is no life for the employees working In those projects company is not bothered of your actual skill and capability You are only a resource thats it No team outing no any kind of remuneration like bonus team outing etc

The company is having tag line People matter result count

But this tag line is just like dead sea where the name of sea is dead see but it had a quality that no one sinks in the water because of its densitySimilarly here People doesnt matter only revenue collection matter

I have closely seen this company so there are many thing to speak but i would only say that really this company is of no worth in employee perspective However only a few are lucky to get some better project in this organization

There are full of ambiguity in capgemini policy

1 When a fresher is hired interviewed at 1 location and immediately asked to move to other city location no relocation charge is provided

2 When fresher and experienced person gets release from project and based on requirement or availability of project heshe is being asked to relocate to other city location then on that time mostly relocation charge is not provided And there is relocation policy document which if you follow then your new manager will black mail you that if you will ask for relocation charge then he she will reject you to give that offer and employee cant do anything in it contacting with HR will never work

3 Capgemini is full of support project where you will find less or no scope of technical learning They have acquired those project only for revenue collection In those support project you will not get motivated in anyway neither work work culturepay no team refreshment etc

4 The immediate manager and manager of manager and manager your managers manager(N+1 N+2 and N+3) involves in your annual review appraisal process Managers receives clear instruction from management to give good rating to very few people and give

average to rest all and remaining receives bad rating who had some conflict with manager political team member or who asked for release from the given project N+2 and N+3 generally has no intersection with employees and they even dont know the names of the employees but they take part in review process where they decides appraisal based on your managers review

5 In capgemini HR are just a representative but for no other use for the employees The concept of business unit HR is just fake and they follow the same what capgemini management decides and they will never help any employee in their issue of harassment project corruption or anything In-fact HRs are helpless to do anything

6 There is a policy under which employees needs to get shift allowance Shifts has been defined in the document in range and it is stated in the document that what allowance an employee will get if heshe is required to work in different shift other then normal business hour The amount which has been mentioned in that policy have not been changed from centuries And in many projects managers or senior managers give instruction to the employees not to apply for that allowance even if heshe is coming in different shift as asked to come If an employee presents that document to project management and reports to HR then employee digs hisher grave in capgemini which badly affects during reviewrating time

7 Company mainly focus on giving technical training to Campus-hired fresher but not to off campus hired fresher Reason is based on that training given to the Campus hired they decides the bond period for them where they cant leave the organization until the period gets over or else they will require to pay a certain amount to org There is no bond condition on off campus fresher so they are not being provided any technical training And all together mostly they are deployed in non technical work where scope of gaining technical exp is nil or a very little where they feel suffocated

8 The company is fully focused on their branding as we can see their advertisement promotion through posters social medias etc where they boosts of they principle values which doesnt exists And the tag like of capgemini - people matter result count is also one of that

9 There is a huge huge dis-connectivity between employees with capgemini management and project management and capgemini internal management like HR and others In which account project what wrong is going on with employees

10 I have interacted with a lot and lot of departments like HR resourcing group of different business units marketing team recruitment manager recruiters many of the service delivery managers etc and when I see the capgemini India review in certain website where review has been given with over boosting about the company then I feel as if certain group of people who look after marketing and advertisement make several fake accounts to give better review of the company

Thanks for A2AI can sense your disgust with people who enjoy mocking IT industry in India Some have good reasons some are just born to complaint

Thats the first lesson - ignore most discussions in office You will find plenty of such intellectuals willing to argue on any topic the question is how is that argument helpful to you and the society They wont give solutions They wont provide an alternative All they will do is give you negative energy IT (and corporate) is full of such people - learn to ignore them

You need to be a jack of all trades Be ready to do anything Any technology any domain When I say ready I dont mean accept You will be forced to take any domaintechnology at work (which is my next point) but you should be quick to evaluate what is good for your future

Learn to fight If you dont want to work on something or your ideas are not accepted dont work Escalate to the highest of levels - no one will ever fire you Your managers may hate you for bypassing them but they cannot do anything more Maybe your next hike will be 4 and not 6 Doesnt count in early stages of career

Never under-estimate business Most people portray themselves as just coders (who will avoid talking) or a presentation guy (who will avoid coding) Learn to bridge the gap You have to be an efficient communicator between these two groups - coders should respect you more than the guys who just blabber Business teams should feel comfortable talking to you because you dont talk of weird coding problems and efficient algorithm to them

Understand your client Talk as much as possible with different people from the client team None in your team would want you to be exposed to the client but let them hate you But ensure you talk to understand their business better Discuss innovative ideas (you should follow trending groups for the domain you are in) and optimization strategies (you can easily find modules to optimize in the load of legacy code most of the IT companies carry)

Be quick and dirty Noone wants a perfect solution initially And thats your chance to make an impression Just make it work Once thats done start owning the solution and enhance If you are a good coder you might not feel happy doing this but then you will have to continue working under some jerk who presents a stupid prototype before your perfect code

Always give emphasis on communication In other words if you are equally weak in both communication and technology - work on communication first

Be self-motivated In a place where everyone is whining you cannot depend on others to set career goals for you Most of the senior people have experience limited to similar IT companies and they dont know of a better world and culture So they will compel you to believe that there is no good outside and you have to be in the same shit forever Spend more and more time in learning new skills Dont depend on group studies (if you are used to those from college)
