Starter: Battleships!HOW TO PLAY

•The class is spilt into Pairs

•Each person has a grid of where to shoot

•On each grid there are 2 battleships and 1 mine

•The opponent reads out the question for the desired spot the person wants to move to for example: G4 – Who was the leader of the suffragists

•If they get the question right you have not made the shot but if they get it wrong then you hit your desired spot.

•Two hits sinks a battleship

•The aim of the game is to blow up your opponents battleships

How did they gain the vote?

The reason they gained the vote is because of their efforts 1913 temporary discharge act ‘Cat and Mouse Act’ allowed arrested women to be released from jail until they regained there strength.

By 1919 women were allowed jobs such as law and architecture.

1928 Representation of the People act women of the age 21+ could vote and were now on equal footing with men

By 1917 over 800,000 women worked in munitions industry.

Women went on hunger strike to get out of jail but were eventually force fed.

People were didn’t like the thought of women being ‘violated’
