    How a common citizen can fight corruption?

    I tried to find matter on this topic on internet but did not find anything concrete.

    Well, in my opinion there can be three levels of action that can be taken by an

    ordinary individual.

    A I do not want to lay my life but yet want to fight corruption

    Do not

    believe that nothing can be done about corruption and it is a global,

    universal and unavoidable phenomenon.

    believe that corruption at higher level does not affect you.

    vote corrupt politicians.

    show respect for a corrupt official, politician, journalist etc.

    be friendly with a corrupt person

    invite a corrupt person for any official or family function.

    attend functions organized by corrupt persons.

    attend functions organized to felicitate or honour corrupt persons.

    attend election meetings of corrupt politicians

    be ignorant about anti-corruption laws.

    vote parties whose election manifesto is silent about issue of

    corruption.

    give dowry.

    accept dowry.

    favour your relatives or friends

    bribe any one.

    jump queue or red signal.

    believe that happiness can be bought and comes from material

    things only.

    Do-

    heed to Mahatma Gandhi's advise Non-cooperation with evil is as much

    a duty as is co-operation with good

    ask for receipt if you pay for goods or services

    B Middle path : A step ahead

    Build public opinion against corruption and corrupt person. Inform your

    family members, friends, neighbors, students, servants, employees, etc.about channels of corruption, remedies etc.

    Boycott corrupt persons.

    If you have any firm information about corrupt persons pass it on to

    persons with integrity and willingness to act against corruption (media

    persons, activists, whistleblowers, NGO)

    C. I can go to any extent

    Seek information under RTI Act, 2005

    Complain higher officials (every office has a Chief vigilance Officer and

    many states have Vigilance Commissioners, a list at the end of this

    document).

    Contact officials of Anti Corruption Bureau to assist in nabbing of corrupt

    officials.

    File a police case.

    Contact print/electronic media to report cases of corruption.

    Seek remedy from Honourable court

    Organize press conference of public meetings to expose corrupt

    bureaucrats, politicians etc.

    Organize rallies or protests.

    Write articles to create awakening and to expose corruption.
