All undergraduate students carrying 12 or more credits who do not live with their parents or legal guardians are required to reside on campus in the residence halls. Residents must be considered full-time students. Any student over the age of 25 is not required to live on campus. Exceptions to this policy can be reviewed with the Director of Residence Life during housing selection.

Off-Campus Living
Off-Campus Living Requirements:
• A student must meet one of the following minimum criteria prior to the beginning of the semester:
• 22 years of age
• Obtained at least 90 credit hours (4th or 5th
year senior)
• Living with a parent or legal guardian within a 50-mile radius (commuters)
• Married and living with spouse
If a student does not meet these requirements, the student may make a
formal request to the Director of Residence Life or the Coordinator of
Disability Services to seek off campus housing for health reasons. Please note
that because of the residency requirement, students who do not meet
the above criteria to live off campus may be denied.
Off-Campus Living:
Additional Information
Students can apply for off-campus housing through the Star-Rez housing application available on LBC Mobile and the Student Portal. A lease does not change the status of an off-campus approval request; thus a student should consider waiting for approval before signing a lease.
Returning students who are requesting approval to live off campus must make the request by the end of housing selection in the spring. New students who are seeking approval to live off campus should fill out the approval form before August 15th. Late enrollment students (after August 15th) who would like housing should talk to the office of Student Affairs as soon as possible.
