WHY CHOOSE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY HOUSING?By opting to reside in International Community Housing, you will be a part of a living-learning

community that will encourage ambitious goal-setting and provide opportunities to build

cross-cultural relationships with students who have shown interest in global perspectives. This

community will also promote language learning, explore personal and cultural identities, and

help you navigate cultural differences.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF LIVING IN INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY HOUSING?By living in International Community Housing, you will:

• Develop transformational relationships through meaningful interactions with students,

faculty and staff who will help guide your education through a global perspectives lens

• Immerse yourself in a global community housing students from all around the world

• Engage in customized programming through the Center for Global Education

• Explore foreign languages

• Be assigned a roommate who is both excited to have an international roommate, as well as

shares similar interests with you

HOW IS THE COMMUNITY FLOOR ARRANGED?The International Living and Learning

Community is located on the fourth

floor of Patterson Hall. Two Resident

Assistants (RA) will provide guidance

and support for all floor members.

Additional leadership will be provided

by North Central’s Center for Global

Education and faculty members

teaching the international first-year

seminar course. All North Central

College policies apply to international

student housing participants. The

Office of Residence Life reserves the

right to remove any individuals who

violate College policy.

WHAT ARE MY NEXT STEPS?1. Fill out the international roommate questionnaire in this application.

2. Complete and submit this application, either electronically or in print, no later than noon on

April 1, 2020. Contact information is provided on page one.

3. The Center for Global Education will notify you of your new housing assignment in early July.

4. Contact your new American roommate and get to know them!
