• Be able to label the color wheel…know where each color goes!

• Understand the difference b/n primary, secondary, and tertiary colors

• Know what a “shade”, “tint”, and “value” of a color are

• Do colors affect mood? Explain using examples• What are the color schemes? Know each• What are some things to conisder prior to

choosing a color scheme for a room

Principles of Design

• Be able to identify the 6 principles of design and how they can affect a room/house– Balance: Symmetrical and asymmetrical– Rhythm: Know the five types– Proportion: What is the “ideal” proportion/ratio? Who

first realized that this was the ideal one?– Emphasis: What is a focal point?– Scale: What is the difference between scale and

proportion? – Unity/Variety: How do they differ and how do we

achieve both?
