Sorted and graded into lots of different grades and types of clothing that can be re-worn

And items that can’t are made into wiper cloths for industry

Good quality light/tropical clothing is sent out to the Third world

and Asian countries

This creates jobs and ….

enables some people to earn a living and the others are able to afford new clothing and shoes for their families without having to

rely on Charity or handouts

It also brings in much needed money from tourists

The heavier items e.g. woollen jumpers, blankets, coats etc are sent to the colder Eastern Bloc countries, where again it creates employment

and allows people to provide for their own families.

It is estimated that 70% of the worlds population uses second-hand clothes.

It is estimated that 400,000 to 700,000 tonnes of textiles, worth an estimated £400 million, are sent to landfill

every year in the UK.

At least 50 % of the textiles going for landfill are re-usable /

recyclable.

Then bring in the collected bags on the arranged day

parents before bringing items

in.
