Frontline enables and supports people with a learning disability and high support needs to live full and productive lives through their active inclusion within the Brentwood community. We offer community-based experiences specifically to people with a learning disability and high support needs who are at risk of being excluded from many of the simple pleasures and experiences of everyday life. A vital part of FRONTLINE’S role is building acceptance and inclusion for all and helping to develop a culture that takes community inclusion for granted. Community Works Community Works is at the heart of Frontline’s activities, illustrating what happens when we tap into the rich resources the community has to offer. Frontline strives to ensure that everyone, including people with complex needs, are accepted and celebrated for who they are and experience the satisfaction of ‘belonging’ in the wider community. The Community Works! Newsletter is published bi-monthly. HoursWorth HoursWorth Supported Employment enables people with high support needs to access paid work in the local community. Crown Café Crown Café, based at Sawyers Church, employs people with a learning disability who serve the community in the Olive Branch lunch club, Lite Bite café and Colours coffee shop. Crown Café has also expanded into other community venues such as Montbazon Court and caters for occasional community events. Café Art Café Art enables people with a learning disability to express their creativity and produce attractive artwork within a relaxed and friendly café environment. The Gates The Gates aims to ‘build community’ through horticulture, offering opportunities to develop new skills and interests. Starburst Starburst dance nights, held at a local venue, are popular with young people with and without disabilities. Bridge the Gap Bridge the Gap offers an opportunity for people aged between 20 and 30 to get together and access their local community. Tuesday Club Tuesday Club is a Sawyers Church activity, supported by Frontline, offering club nights, countryside walks and community-based activities. Frontline Bulgaria The Frontline Bulgaria project has now ceased and all operational responsibilities have been transferred to Bulgarian NGO’s. Drama Adults with a learning disability are supported to facilitate weekly drama workshops for children in local primary schools. Community Links Forum Community Links Forum, is an opportunity, through our community breakfasts, for individuals or groups to connect up and ‘build community’ together.
