The park is located three miles off HWY 11-Ebetween Greeneville and Jonesborough. From I-81,follow signs at exit 23, through Greeneville to park,approx. 27 miles. From I-26, turn south on BoonesCreek Road. Proceed to Jonesborough. Turn righton HWY 11-E towards Greeneville and follow signsto park, approx. 19 miles.

Annual Park EventsAugust - Crockett Days Celebration
FishingThe Nolichucky River flows through thepark and provides fishing opportunitiesfor a variety of fresh water species. Small mouth bass and catfish are popular catches. Bank fishing and wade fishing are popular. Kayaks and canoes can belaunched to the Nolichuckey River from variouspoints within the park. For larger boats and easeof launching, a boat ramp is available duringpark hours and is located at the south end of thepark near the mouth of the Big Limestone Creek.Bait, tackle, snacks and state fishing licenses arefor sale at nearby off-park locations. HikingApproximately 2.5 miles of trails range fromeasy to moderate, providing beautiful views andample opportunities for wildlife and wildflowerviewing.
SwimmingThe swimming pool is open from Memorial Day toLabor Day. Call for dates in late summer as hoursare based on availability of lifeguards.
Davy Crockett Birthplace State Parkis located at the confluence of the NolichuckyRiver and Limestone Creek in Greene County,Tennessee. This 105-acre park honors one of ournations’ most famous individuals. There is a museum dedicated to Crockett and a replicacabin of the type in which David Crockett wouldhave lived during the late 18th century. Locatednearby is a monument to Crockett containingnative stones donated from each of the 50states. Though small, the park provides a wonderful diversity of natural settings rangingfrom forested limestone bluffs to meadows andtree-lined streams, all providing exceptional birdand wildlife viewing opportunities.
Planned ProgramsThe Crockett Days Celebration, held in August,celebrates the pioneer lifestyle and featuresliving history exhibitions and re-enactors in period dress from the late 18th century. A seasonal interpretive ranger provides programs during the summer season. Programs rangefrom nature activities to historical and cultural interpretative programs.
MuseumThe Davy Crockett Birthplace Museum containsitems common to life on the eastern frontier, aswell as portraits and documents relating to DavyCrockett. A short film provides information aboutCrockett’s life. The museum is open seven days aweek from 8 A.M. – 4:30 P.M., closed from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. Weekend hours vary with the season.
Historical significanceBorn in 1786, David Crockett epitomizes thestrength and character vital to our nation’s westward expansion during the pioneer era. With virtually no formal education, he rose from the depths of poverty to national fame and a seat in the United States Congress. His fame and popularity during his life was celebrated in booksand plays. His death at the Alamo in 1836 markedthe beginning of his legend. Davy Crockett Birth-place State Park is dedicated to the memory of thisexceptional figure in our nation’s history.
CampingThe park has 88 sites consisting of 54 full hook-up sites with water, sewer and 50 amp electrical service; 17 sites with water and 30 amps electrical hook-ups and 17 tent sites. Campfires are permitted only indesignated fire rings or in above ground fire standsequipped with screens and covers. The camp-ground is located near the scenic Nolichucky River.A playground and swimming pool are also located nearby. All sites can be reserved online.
