Houghton College/NextEra Solar Array

Solar Array Details2.5 MW system covering 11 acres

2.92 million kWh production (equivalent to powering 270 homes all year)

Will provide 54% of Houghton’s annual electricity demand

No cost to Houghton to build or maintain (funding through NextEra Energy & NYSERDA grant)

Array will be owned and operated by NextEra

Houghton has agreed to purchase 100% of the energy generated by the array for 25 years
