The Blue Lagoon is in a walking distance (3 km) from the hotel so guests can easily visit the phenomenon at any convenient time.

Gunnuhver is a collective name for an impressive and colourful geothermal field of various mud pools and fuma-roles in the southwest part of Reykjanes Peninsula about 15km from Grindavík.

When exploring the Reykjanes peninsula Krýsuvík thermal area and the curious lake Kleifarvatn with their striking land-scapes’ should not be missed. City tour to Reykjavík capital of Iceland takes about 40 minutes each way. For those who are not driving, public trans-portation is available.

Gullfoss (Golden Waterfalls) and Geysir (hot springs area) are very popular along with Þingvellir National Park at Lake Þingvallavatn, a UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site. All these sites can be visited in one day tour from Grindavík village.

A new hotel close to Keflavík International Airport

Hotel Lava is a new hotel in Grindavík village about 20 km from the Keflavik International Airport. The hotel will open on June 1st 2015.Within a 3 minutes’ walk from the hotel you will find a supermarket, bank, out-door thermal swimming pool, church, cafes, restaurants, gasoline station and a busy fishing harbour. A nice 18 hole golf course is also to be found in only 3 km distance from Grindavík.

Grindavík village

Grindavík is a beautiful fishing village at the South West coastline of Iceland with a lively and busy harbour and a wonderful nature. The Reykjanes Peninsula exists where the North Atlantic ridge rises from the ocean. Here you can find 100 different craters, caves and lava fields, a variety of bird life, astonishing cliffs, high geothermal activity, and black sand beaches. Many interesting geothermal hotspots and attractions are also located in this area.
