Sew a visible french seam at the center front and back. With right sides together sew the pattern pieces together. Trim the seam allowance a little and press the seam allowance open. Turn over so that left sides are together and press. Seam should be exactly on fold. Stitch the second seam so that a little pleat is created on the right side of the dress. Press to one side.

SIZE 46 TO 52: Sew the bust dart. Press the seam allowance up.

Sew the shoulder seams, right sides together and finish with a serger or zigzag stitch. Press seam allowances towards the back.

Press the bias bindings lengthwise in half.

NECKLINE: Start at the left shoulder seam and sew the bias binding right sides together to the neckline. Overlap the ends. Understitch the binding to the seam allowance and press the binding up and away from the body. Turn the binding to the inside, press well. Topstitch the bin-ding in place.

SLEEVE HOLES AND SEAMS: Clip the seam allowances at the markings for »armpit« and »height of slit«. Sew the bias binding right sides together to the edge leaving 3–5 cm / 1 1/4 –2'' of the binding at both sides. Make sure to start and finish exactly at the markings. Clip the bias binding likewise at the markings. Understitch to the seam allowance and press the binding up. Turn the binding to the inside, press well and topstitch in place. Start and finish again at the markings. Turn the ends of the binding towards the edge – do not trim, but catch them while sewing the side seams.

Sew the side seams, right sides together and finish with a serger or zigzag stitch. Press seam allowances towards the back and secure the seams eventually with a bar tack stitch.
