This “demi parure” is a wonderful example of the work done in the early 1950’s by Esha Randel (and other companies,) in what was then W. Germany, in the pre-WWII German Deco style.

325 PAIR OF VINTAGE RARE GUMPS HAWAIIAN APE’ LEAF BROOCHES
Very hard to fi nd sterling silver gold washed brooches in the ape’ (taro) leaf de-sign. Marked Gumps Sterling, Designed by G. Cini on the plaque on the back of each piece, these substantial pieces - 3” long by 1 1/2” wide are a Cini col-lector’s dream. Cini designed for Gumps, which opened in Honolulu in 1929, in the store’s early days. These pieces are C. 1930’s and fabulous.

Another treasure from Gumps, designed by Cini. This C. 1940 Hawaiian bird brooch is 3 1/4” w. x 1 1/2” long. It is marked Gumps Sterling, Designed by G. Cini on the plaque on the back.

327 VINTAGE MEXICAN STERLING AND CRUSHED TURQUOISE NECKLACE
This statement C. 1950’s - 1960’s silver necklace is 24” in length. The long and articulated necklace has the pre-Hispanic or pre-Columbian inspired designs/motifs favored by many of the better Taxco silver smiths. The jointed panels have a turquoise chip inlay resembling mosaic, and the links are mid-century modern in design. The central ornament is 3 1/2” long. The piece is signed “Villasana” Mexico, Taxco 925 (which indicates that it is sterling.) It also has an Eagle 1. Great necklace!

An interesting coupling of an oval shaped brooch marked Mexico and Silver on the reverse with an unmarked C. 1930’s silvertone highly ornamented dress clip in the shape of a leaf. The brooch, C. 1950’s measure 1/34” in both directions. The dress clip is 3” long by 1/1/2” w. Great accent pieces for casual or dressy!

This lovely 17 3/4” is slightly larger than a “choker” but is a real statement piece when you need that special something. The pearls are 15-16mm fi nished with a hidden grooved yellow gold clasp marked 585, indicating 14k. Possibly European with that marking.

The Silent Auction opens at 6:00pm and closes at 9:00pm The auction check-out station will be located in the Lanai Room and will open at 9:30pm
• All auction items must be paid for this evening by cash, check, American Express, Visa, MasterCard or Discover, and are subject to Hawaii General Excise Tax (4.712%).
• All sales are fi nal. No exchanges or refunds on auction items will be allowed unless indicated. All items must be claimed the night of the auction unless size or quantity prevents their removal. Any arrangements and expense for delivery are the sole responsibility of the winning bidder. Any item not picked up from Hawaii Opera Theatre’s offi ce by January 21, 2014 will be considered a donation back to Hawaii Opera Theatre.
• BUY NOW items must be paid for immediately at the cashier’s table. The cashier’s table will open at 6:00pm for BUY NOW items.
• Each item is auctioned “as-is” without warranty. Values assigned to some items being auctioned are estimates only. Many of the wines will be BUY NOW items so you may open them and share them with your friends during dinner at the Opera Ball.
Just follow these simple steps:
• Look for the highlighted BUY NOW signature line and upset price at the bottom of the bid sheet.
• Simply sign your name by the BUY NOW price and the item will be yours!
• Notify an auction volunteer to escort you with your purchase(s) for early check-out.
• The cashier’s table for the BUY NOW program will open at 6:00pm.
