Hot Keys MBS Hot Keys <A> - Brings up the Actions viewer. This is available on the Design screen for the RFDES cell (output file only). You can point at and right click the right mouse button, then selectA ctions from the popup menu. <C> - Brings up the graphic viewing program. This is available on the Design screen for cells: EWDES, ROOFDES, RFDES, SCDES, COMPDES, PARTDES, and DESCTRL. This is available on the Detailing screen for cells: EWDET, PARTDET, and RFDET. The Job ID screen can be changed and saved by using this key. <Ctrl><J> - Activates the default file list. This list shows the default files that the user has set up, so that they can select a file, and it will be copied into the current job directory. While in any main screen, press <Ctrl><J>, the default list of Job ID files will appear. Move to the entry you want to select and press <ENTER>, or <ESC> to quit without selecting. <Alt><J> - Allows you to add new default files to the default file list. This allows you to add Job ID files as a default while you are currently working on it. You will be prompted to input a 3 digit Id and a description. The default Job ID list will appear when you start a new job, or when you press <Ctrl><J>, as described above. <N> - Activates the MBS_NOTE.DEF file from the current job. Pressing the <N> key will display the notes for the current job. Hot KeysMBS Hot Keys <A>

 <J>

 <Ctrl><J>

- Activates the default file list.   This list shows the default files that the user has set up, so that they canselect a file, and it will be copied into the current job directory.

 While in any main screen, press <Ctrl><J>, the default list of Job ID files will appear.   Move to theentry you want to select and press <ENTER>, or <ESC> to quit without selecting.

 <Alt><J>

The program will use the REPORT.FLD file from the current job directory to substitute values for thevariables listed in the template file and create an output file in the current job directory.

 Each template file type has a specific use described below.

 The CONTRACT types refer to a template file in the \MBS\REP directory.   These template file typesare used to create price proposals or description information so that a customer will know itemsincluded and design criteria associated with the building being purchased.   These input template filesare in the format: NAME.FRM.   Output files are in the format: NAME.OUT.   See the DetailingManual p. 8-7 for reference.

 The NOTE type template file uses a template file from the \MBS\REP directory.   Theseinputtemplate files are in the format: NAME.FRM and the output files are in the format:   NAME.NOT.These files are used by the erection drawing programs. The *.NOT files in the current directory areused by the program if they exist, or the program will use the *.NOT files in the \MBS\NOTdirectory.   See the Drawing Manual p. 2-18 for reference.

 The SHIP LIST type template file uses a template file from the \MBS\REP directory.   These inputtemplate files are in the format: SHIP*.FRM and the output files are in the format: SHIP*.OUT.  These files are used to generate customized list of materials required for a building.   See theDetailing Manual p. 9-3 through the end of the chapter for reference.

 The DXF cover type template file uses a template file from the \MBS\DXF directory.   These inputtemplate files are in the format: COVER*.DXF and the output files are in the format: COVER*.DXF.  These files are used for drawing cover pages for erection drawings or shipping list cover sheets.  More than one drawing cover sheet can be used, or extra drawing cover template files can be setupfor different customers.   See Drawing Manual p. 9-7 for reference.

 <X>

- Activates the PROGRAM.DEF file from the \MBS\DOC2 directory.   The default program list willappear.   This list shows the default program files that the user has set up.   Move to the entry you wantto select and press <ENTER> and the command will be run, or <ESC> to quit without selecting.  DOS batch files or executable programs can be listed.   While in the programs list, entries can beedited using the <F6> key as shown at the bottom of the screen.

 Allows you to add an entry to the end of the program list.   You will be prompted for the Descriptionand Command.   The Description will be displayed when the programs list is shown and the Commandis the program, which is executed when the entry is selected from the program list.

 <Ctrl><Tab> or <Shift><Ctrl><Tab>

- Allows you to move forwards, <Ctrl><Tab>, or backwards, <Shift><Ctrl><Tab>, between the tabswhen available. Using either of these keystroke when on the Special tab (or Design tab if goingbackwards) will take the user into the Building Input Editor.
