Missouri Vietnam Veterans Memorial –“All Gave Some, Some Gave All”
911 Memorial ‐ The College dedicated the "Lest We Forget" 9/11 Memorial. This memorial includes one of the last
remaining remnants of the World Trade Center structure. This piece of steel was donated to the College by Tommy
McHale, a retired police officer, who wanted to honor the 37 fallen men and women officers from the Port Authority for
New York and New Jersey who perished on 9/11.
Point Lookout – View of the Ozarks
Edwards Mill ‐ Built with funds provided by the late Mr. and Mrs. Hubert C. Edwards, is powered by a twelve-foot water
wheel turned by runoff water from nearby Lake Honor. Student workers grind whole-grain meal and flour, available for
purchase inside the building. Upstairs is a weaving studio, where students design and produce rugs, shawls, placemats
and other items on traditional looms. Downstairs, student’s hand-weave baskets.
Greenhouses ‐ Are home to the Clint McDade orchid collection. Mr. McDade, one of the School's first students, donated
the nucleus of the collection, which today numbers more than 7,000 plants. Individual orchids and other houseplants are
for sale at the greenhouse.
Gaetz Tractor Museum – Tractors
Lunch – Lamberts “Home of the tossed Rolls” On your own
SRC ‐ Springfield ReManufacturing Corp. In 1983, Jack Stack and his 12 business partners scraped together $100,000
and borrowed another $9 million to buy a failing division of International Harvester in Springfield, Missouri. With the
country in the midst of a recession, the future looked bleak for the engine-rebuilding plant they called SRC (Springfield
Remanufacturing Corporation). We are the oldest employee-owned remanufacturer to OEM’s in North America. Our
Associates have been leaders in core logistics, disassembly, cleaning, machining, assembly and testing everything from
fuel injectors to large off-highway transmissions. We are known worldwide for our open-book culture which espouses
transparency, integrity, and economic literacy. We are an extension of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM's) in the
agriculture, industrial, defense, construction, mining, commercial trucking, locomotive, marine and automotive industries.
Ralph Foster Museum ‐
Ozark History & More….The primary
focus of the Ralph Foster Museum
today is to collect, preserve, interpret
and exhibit items relating to the Ozarks
region. One of the more famous
exhibits is the original vehicle used in
the television series "The Beverly
Hillbillies." In addition, visitors will find
antiques, weapons, dolls, natural
history and other items from around the
world.
