Disney Grand California Hotel

Focusing on the Arts and Crafts theme of Disney’s newest hotel experience, CommArts designed the hotel identity, hotel and conference center interior and exterior waynding signs and restaurant and retail thematic signs for this 700-room Disneyland Hotel. To supplement the experience, CommArts also designed and produced all guest print collateral and restaurant menus. The hotel and resort opened in December, 2000.

NorthstarResort

Northstar at Tahoe, what was once the historic lumber town of Truckee, California, is now one of

the top North American ski resorts. This year-round resort destination attracts hundreds of thousands of

skiers, snowboarders, mountain bikers and hikers every year.

Stantec was retained by Booth Creek Partners to provide resort

and architectural character, graphics and signage systems, along with

guest experience consultation for this Lake Tahoe, California ski resort.

Stantec Boulder was responsible for exterior environmental branding for this 34,000 m2 fashion destination in Suzhou, China. The scope of work included concept and design for project identity, signage and wayfinding, as well as all building exterior finishes and common area amenities, such as water features, special paving, custom light fixture designs, railings, gates, canopies and awnings, kiosks, and art programming.

Adjacent to the American Airlines Center in Downtown Dallas, Stantec Boulder is leading a collaboration with RTKL and Halff Associates. The team was retained by Trademark Properties, Estein & Associates, Cushman & Wakefield and City of Dallas, to reposition the whole Victory Park District, public areas, amenities and retail. Stantec Boulder created a strategy for this urban entertainment and sports district to provide better pedestrian connectivity, a sense of place through a program of environmental graphics and wayfinding that included iconic interactive district marker that celebrates the local teams. Additionally a new landscape and hardscape program was introduced, as a new retail strategy for all existing and new storefronts facing Victory Park Lane. The project will start construction mid-April.

Cityset is located at the most vibrant intersection in Denver on Colorado Boulevard and Cherry Creek Drive South on a 7 acre site. This newly designed, 250,000 sf., true mixed-use district features two hotels, a variety of dining, entertainment and retail establishments that complement this destination and attract both the local community and visiting guests. It is recording the highest rents ever paid in Denver.

Stantec was retained by Stonebridge Companies to provide Master Planning, Programming, Entitlements process, Architectural Design, Signage, Wayfinding and Branding services. Stantec collaborated with G3 Architecture who served as the Architect of Record on the project.

Located on 4,200 acres on the 110-mile island of Eleuthera, Bahamas, Cape Eleuthera Resort and Yacht Club features luxury accommodations overlooking a newly renovated marina on the pristine, turquoise waters surrounding the Bahamian peninsula. Amenities for this resort include kayaking, diving, snorkeling and fitness trails, in addition to world renowned sport fishing. Powell Pointe captures the tranquil Caribbean spirit and provides a unique island experience.

The site design takes its form from the modernistic theme of the hotel

architecture which also included building elevations that recall one of

Disney’s most popular animated Pixar films. Site design solutions include

hardscapes and landscapes inspired by natural organic forms, two outdoor

courtyards surrounded by the hotel’s “infinity” shaped floor plan -- one with

a play area garden inspired by the featured animated movie and one with outdoor dining and seating areas. The 16-story structure has direct views to

the new theme park.

As part of the new community of WaterColor, Florida, The WaterColor Inn, located immediately adjacent to Seaside, Florida, is a 60-room boutique hotel designed with casual sophistication. The Inn is gracefully tucked between sugar-white dunes that overlook the crystalline Gulf of Mexico. Amenities include open pool and deck area designed to maximize the view of the Gulf, kayak rentals, bike rentals and trails, tennis courts and a luxury golf course.

The design team provided design services including site planning, site amenity structures, as well as hardscape, pool area, landscape and irrigation design.

The Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary Resort provides first

class amenities es in this luxury environment. Nestled at the edge of Bay Lake, the grounds provide year-

round recreation and top-rate pool and spa facilities. The pool deck and

grounds mirror the clean, modern style of the tower, designed by

Gwathmey Siegel. With curving lines and intense colors, the main pool is

a true physical and visual oasis. It is also the recreational heart of the resort with water slides and spray activities tucked carefully into the

design. The spa provides an escape for relaxing parents while kids enjoy the interactive pop-jet fountain. The

grounds possess simple, high-design features, without losing sight of the

potential for fun.Linear fountains and a bamboo filled

plaza lead guests from the hotel to the lake front paths and shaded

areas, allowing all-day enjoyment of the pool deck and play areas.

The Hollywood Hotel at Hong Kong Disneyland is a 400-room, Art Deco inspired hotel located adjacent to Disney’s Hong Kong

theme park, which overlooks Penny’s Bay. The site design includes a promenade adjacent the bay, taking its form from the Art Deco

theme. “Hollywood” design inspiration on included a piano shaped lagoon pool with water slide, a “Hollywood bowl” amphitheater, a

“movie film ” garden promenade, the “stars” outdoor seating area, and a “Hollywood Hills” sign feature with a seating overlook.Located in the tropics, the landscape design features many

exotic plant species, some of which were collected from as far away as Australia.

Located adjacent to the existing Beach Club Resort Hotel and seven miles from the Magic Kingdom, The Villas provide 282 guests accommodations which include studios, one, and two-bedroom guest rooms. Amenities include a garden entry courtyard, boardwalk promenade overlooking an existing waterway,and “dune” gardens, as well as a pool courtyard with a pool pavilion, beach plantings and shaded umbrella table seating areas.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort celebrates the spirit of the South Pacific yet is within a quick water taxi or Monorail ride to the Magic Kingdom. 20 new Bora Bora waterside bungalows and converted hotel rooms to studio villa units bring the Disney Vacation Club magic to the Polynesian Village Resort. The project consisted of upgrading the resort main entry and porte cochere, renovated feature pool area with volcano and kids Kiki Tikis water play area, new Oasis leisure pool area and pool bar and new pedestrian walkways and

tropical landscape.

Stantec was hired to create an engaging sequence of public spaces, experiences, and activities that compliments and enhances the building architecture at Lionshead in Vail,

Colorado. The Stantec Boulder design team developed custom designed amenities, signage, and graphics to celebrate all four seasons of the Vail Mountain Lifestyle and to

reinforce that Lionshead is a world-class resort destination.

One of the key aspects of this project was the improvements completed on The Arrabelle Hotel, which included all public realms and amenities, graphics, wayfinding,

signage, and selection of fixtures and furnishings.

The Boston outpost of the Yotel brand introduces compact yet luxurious hospitality to the Seaport District.

Yotel operates micro hotels in Europe and New York City, and identified Boston’s Innovation District as ripe for its compact yet luxurious approach to hospitality. With rooms at this location ranging between 160 and 200 sf–half the size of traditional rooms at nearby hotels–Yotel provides guests with a novel experience and spaces that fuse form with function at an affordable price point in one of the city’s hottest neighborhoods.

Stonebridge Properties retained Stantec hospitality design team to convert an office building in the heart of downtown Denver, Colorado into two hotels with a combined 302 room count. Changing the use from office to hospitality required perceivable day and night modifications to the entire site and facade. Portals, porte-cochere, signage, lighting and a new arrival experience are aimed at creating a feeling of welcome and comfort. The 12-story structure is subtly and effectively being transformed into a successful venture in adaptive reuse sustainability. This project has been acclaimed as one of the most successful urban adaptations in Downtown Denver.

Stantec was selected by WCI Communities to design the master plan for the 463-acres, 300-unit luxury development with a European Village component as the core of the residential and club off ering. A Tuscan themed clubhouse will be the heart of the village, which supports 70 hillside residential units. Golf memberships are available to the homeowners, and all will be situated in enclaves typically appointed with high levels of European Country detailing. Stantec also provided conceptual design through construction documents for the 48,000 sf. clubhouse situated on a hillside overlooking the 9th and 19th greens. The three-story clubhouse will include a spa and fitness center with treatment rooms, a golf pro shop, casual and fine dining, and four guest suites.To meet parking requirements and aesthetic preferences, the parking was designed below the club and offered the opportunity to create exterior function terraces incorporating a green roof adjacent to the swimming pool.

Magic & Wonder Cruise Ship’s award winning pool deck features three unique pools. The colorful Mickey Mouse pool, whose “ears” serve as wading pools, includes a deck-high pool slide and poolside snack bar. A middeck “Goofy themed” family pool features two whirlpool spas and adjacent stage for entertainment. The Quiet Cove adult pool, located aft of the family pool, features two whirlpool spas and is adjacent to the Cove Café and Signals Bar. Stantec was responsible for the design of this award winning pool deck.

Disney Cruise Line’s Bahamas destination, Castaway Cay, offers

guests the opportunity to indulge in a day-long Caribbean island experience.

Activities include snorkeling, swimming and water play, as well as bicycling and hiking along nature trails with

signs describing the flora of the island. The design team provided conceptual land planning and full design services through construction administration.
