It’s been a busy week!

On Wednesday we cele-

brated Harvest with an

assembly led by Year 4 –

see pictures on p3.

On Thursday I attended

the Kent Headteachers’

Conference. For me,

this was a great oppor-

for Education and also

to bring back some

fresh ideas. The high-

light in my opinion,

though, was the first

school performance:

our Junior Choir partici-

pated. They joined chil-

dren from Colliers

to form a collaborative

choir. After just two

joint practices, the chil-

dren sang a gospel med-

ley; ‘Lightning Tree’ and

‘Power in Me’.

All of the chil-

It always makes me in-

credibly proud to see

our children out and

about, whether it is de-

done to all the children

Lateness

We have been monitoring the Late

Book and have noticed a few

‘running late’s. Which is not an

acceptable reason for lateness. If

your child is 15 minutes late once a

week this equates to around 9.5

hours of lost learning a year.

If there is anything the school can

do to support your child’s punctual

attendance at school then please let

us know.

We are aware that several parents have not been re-ceiving texts and e-mails. We have taken several steps to try to resolve this. Our technical support team sug-gest that anyone with a Mi-crosoft e-mail account e.g. [email protected] may experi-ence difficulties because the SPAM filters are strong. They suggest checking junk/spam boxes and adding us to your list of trusted addresses. An-other option is to provide us with an alternative e-mail address if you have one.

If you have to change arrangements for collection

of your child at the last mi-nute please call the office rather than e-mail as this ensures the message has been received.

Breakfast/ASC booking—wherever possible, please book for the term ahead to allow staffing levels and food orders to be planned accurately. Although Mrs El-lis is currently ill, e-mails are being diverted to the office. Advance bookings will help us to ensure smooth run-ning of extended services.

Textile Bin You may have noticed that we now have a textile recycling bin just inside the playground gates. Year 4 will be leading the fundraising and the inten-tion is to use the money raised to update classroom technolo-gy. Please make use of the bin and encourage friends and family to have a clear out!

Our KS2 children had an

opportunity to exhibit their

artwork at St Margaret’s

Church this week:

songs. We saw the first perfor-

mance of our Reception class who

sung ‘Dingle Dangle Scarecrow’!.

It looked like they were enjoying it!

Thank you to everyone who sent

in Harvest produce this week and

to the Juniors who decorated shoe

boxes. Thanks, also, if you helped

with the deliveries. The pensioners

in the village were delighted to

receive their gifts and we’ve al-
