Foreword by the FEI PresidentWelcome to the FEI Nations Cup™ Eventing 2017 series which, I am delighted to say, is bigger and better than ever before. With the action taking place at ten great venues, including a single stop in the USA, the series continues to grow and flourish.

The concept is already a triumph, offering ideal developmental and training opportunities for potential future stars, both human and equine, and producing wonderful competition. Key to all FEI Nations Cup™ competitions is the sense of team that enhances the spirit of friendship and rivalry in a very unique way. Sport has an extra edge to it when you are not just competing for yourself, but also for your country. It is an honour and a privilege at every level.

Last year saw the series move outside Europe for the first time when visiting The Plains in Virginia, USA where the home side of Boyd Martin, Philip Dutton, Lauren Kieffer and Clark Montgomery won through un-der the stewardship of Chef d’Equipe David O’Connor. However there was no stopping Team Germany from claiming the series title for the third time in five years, pinning Great Britain into runner-up spot.

These two countries have been close rivals since FEI Nations Cup™ Eventing started in 2012, with Britain heading the final leaderboard in 2013 and 2015, and both teams posting three wins each last season. With the best seven scores to count however, it was the Germans who reigned supreme once again. No doubt we can expect another epic clash between the two Eventing powerhouses in 2017.

On behalf of the Fédération Equestre Internationale I’d like to thank all the event organisers for the hard work that goes into each leg of the series. Every fixture has its own dedicated team of officials, supporters and volunteers without whom our sport simply cannot function, and at the FEI we are very aware, and most appreciative, of your contribution.

I’d also like to thank all the horse-owners, and the breeders of the wonderful horses competing in this excep-tionally demanding discipline who play such a vital role.

To all the competitors who line out between the opening event in Montelibretti, Italy in April and the final leg in Boekelo, The Netherlands in October, I send my very best wishes for a season of super sport.

Acht Nationen bei der Nationenpreis Premiere in Wr. Neustadt am Start135 Athleten aus 11 Nationen mit 151 Pferden werden von 30. Juni bis 2. Juli bei den Horse Trials in Wr. Neustadt auf dem Gelände der Militärakademie in drei internationalen Vielseitigkeitsbewerben antreten. Zum ersten Mal in der Geschichte wird im Rahmen dieses dreitägigen Events der Nationenpreis der Vielseitigkeitsreiter in Österreich ausge-tragen. Jedes Land darf pro Jahr nur ein Nationenpreis Turnier austragen. 2017 hat Österreich erstmals den Zuschlag erhalten. Acht Teams aus Österreich, Tschechien, Deutschland, Ungarn, Italien, den Niederlanden, Schweiz und Großbritannien werden im Rahmen des CICO3* Wr. Neustadt um wertvolle Punkte für ihre Nation kämpfen. Großbritannien führt nach drei Stationen in der Zwischenwertung derzeit vor Deutschland. Österreich geht beim „Heimturnier“ erstmals in dieser Saison an den Start.Jede Nation kann in jeder der insgesamt neun Runden ein Team aus drei bis vier Reitern stellen, wobei die besten drei Einzelergebnisse für das Teamergebnis zählen. Das Gesamtergebnis errechnet sich aus den Fehlerpunkten in den drei Teilbewerben Dressur, Gelände und Springen.

Event für die ganze Familie mit Picknick und AgilityAm Samstag, den 1. Juli finden nicht nur die mit Spannung erwarteten Geländeprüfungen im großzügigen Park im Herzen von Wr. Neustadt statt, sondern auch ein familientaugliches Rahmenprogramm mit Picknick (ab 11 Uhr), Agility für Hunde aller Größen und Rassen (ca. 12 Uhr - Anmeldung vor Ort) und einem Loun-ge Abend ab 21 Uhr mit DJ Philipp Linzer.

FaktencheckEs gibt 2017 Nations Cup Eventing Turniere in Polen, Großbritannien, Irland, Österreich, den USA, Deutsch-land, Frankreich und Belgien bevor das Finale im Oktober im niederländischen Boekelo ausgetragen wird. Die besten sieben Nationen sind im Finale startberechtigt.2016 siegte Deutschland im Finale vor Großbritannien und Frankreich.2017 wurden bisher drei Runden ausgetragen. Mit zwei Siegen in Polen und Großbritannien liegt Deutsch-land derzeit auf Platz zwei (200) hinter Großbritannien, die drei zweite Plätze und damit 270 Punkte aufzu-weisen haben. Frankreich liegt mit 100 Punkten auf Platz drei.

Eight nations compete at the Nations Cup premiere in Wr. Neustadt135 athletes from 11 nations with 151 horses will compete in three international eventing competitions from the 30th of June to the 2nd of July at the Horse Trials Wr. Neustadt. During this three day event there will for the first time in history be held an FEI Nations Cup Eventing in Austria. Each nation may only host one Nations Cup Event per year and 2017 Austria got the commitment. Eight teams from Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Great Britain will be part of the CICO3* Wr. Neustadt. After three legs, Great Britain is currently in the lead ahead of Germany. Each team consists of three to four riders. Three riders count for the result of the nation. The overall result consists of the results of the three parts dressage, cross-country and jumping.

Event for the whole familiy with picnic and agilityOn Saturday, the 1st of July, beside the highly appreciated cross-country, there will also take place a family program with picnic (from 11 am), agility for dogs of all sizes and breeds (about 12 pm - registration on the spot) and a lounge evening from 9 pm with DJ Philipp Linzer.

Facts2017 there are Nations Cup Eventing legs in Poland, UK, Ireland, Austria, the USA, Germany, France and Belgium before the finals in October in Boekelo (NED). The best seven nations are allowed to compete in the finals.In 2016 Germany beat Germany and France in the finals.In 2017 three rounds already have taken place. With two victories in Poland and the United Kingdom, Ger-many is currently second (200) behind the UK, with three second places and 270 points so far. France ranks third with 100 points.

Hunde Agility TurnierZwischen den Geländeritt-Runden findet ein Hunde Agility Turnier für Vierbeiner aller Rassen statt. Interes-sierte können sich direkt am Infopoint registrieren und gemeinsam mit ihrem Vierbeiner in derVorrunde (ca. 12.00 Uhr) sowie im Finale (ca. 17.15 Uhr) ihr Können zeigen. Beim Hunde Agility Turnier stehen der Spaß am Meistern der Hindernisse und die Freude am gemeinsamen Erleben mit den Vierbeinern im Vordergrund.

LG PferdewaschstraßeWährend Sie bei einem gemütlichen Picknick mit Ihrer Familie im Freien entspannen, können die Pferde den Service der LGWaschstraße genießen. Die Pferdedecken werden von LG Waschmaschinen mit besonders großem Fassungsvermögen gewaschen und sind dank der großen Füllmenge im Nu wieder sauber.Zusätzlich zu den Waschmaschinen bietet die Pferde-Waschstraße Abkühlung für die Hauptakteure des Ta-ges.
