Horse Piem


Materials - 2,5 mm (US 1 ) hook - 6 different yarns calling for 2,5 mm (US 1 ) hook - soft stuffing - 2 safety eyes 7 mm Horse Piem turns out at a size of 20 cm with the yarn I used (sockyarn). If you are using cotton yarn she turns out at a size of 26 cm, in that case use bigger safety eyes.

Yarns

I used the following yarns:

Brown for the head, body, arms and legs, Annell Super Extra, color: 2932 (+/- 40 gr)

White for the head marking, arms and legs, Regia Uni 4-ply, color: 1992

Light brown for the arms and legs, Atelier Zitron Trekking XXL color: 201 Naturel/creme for the mane and tail,

Regia Uni 4-ply color: 17 Pink for the headcollar,

A rest of pink yarn Dark grey for the horseshoes,

A rest of dark grey yarn

Abbreviations

st(s) = stitch(es) ch = chain slst = slipstitch sc = single crochet hdc = half double crochet dc = double crochet

2sc inc = 2 sc in indicated stich (increase) 2dc inc = 2 dc in indicated stich (increase) 2hdc inc = 2 hdc in indicated stich (increase) pc = popcornstitch sc2tog = sc next 2 stitches together(decrease)

Popcornstitch: work 4 dc all into the same stitch, leaving the last loop unworked on the hook each time. When youve got 5 loops on the hook, yarn over and pull trough all 5 sts.


Head

Make a loop with brown. Round: 1. 6 sc in the yarn loop and tighten the loop.

2. 2 sc in each st around (12 sts)

Place safety eyes between round 21 and 22 with

Fill the head with stuffing material.

Cut the yarn and close the head.


Body

Make a loop with brown.

Round: 1. 6 sc in the yarn loop and tighten the loop.

Leave 17 st unworked.

Cut the yarn and leave enough yarn to sew the head onto the body. Fill with stuffing material. Place the head onto the body. Make sure the upper parts of the body creating the neck. Use the pictures for reference.


Legs Make a loop with light brown. Round: 1. 6 sc in the yarn loop and tighten the loop.






7.-9. 36 sc (3 rounds)

Change color and continue with white.

After stuffing the leg sew or sc tog the 2 opposed st (sc 9) after its done cut the yarn while you ensure to leave enough yarn to sew the legs onto the body. Make another one. Place the legs between round 5 and 7 of the body (see photo for reference).

Horseshoes: Make with dark grey yarn a foundation chain of 15. Start in the 2th ch from hook and work: 2 sc, 2sc inc, 2sc inc, 2sc inc, sc + hdc in next ch, 2hdc inc, 2hdc inc, hdc + sc in next ch, 2sc inc, 2sc inc, 2sc inc, 2 sc.


Arms

Make a loop with light brown. Round: 1. 6 sc in the yarn loop and tighten the loop.




5.-7. 24 sc (3 rounds)


Change color and continue with white.

9.-12. 18 sc (4 rounds)

13. sc2tog, 16 sc (17 sts)

Change color and continue with brown.

14.-15. 17 sc (2 rounds)

16. sc2tog, 15 sc (16 sts)

17.-18. 16 sc (2 rounds)

19. sc2tog, 14 sc (15 sts)

After stuffing the arm sew or sc tog the 2 opposed st (sc 6) after its done cut the yarn while you ensure to leave enough yarn to sew the arms onto the body. Make another one. Sew the arms onto the body 2 rows under the head.

Ears

Make a loop with brown. Round:

1. 6 sc in the yarn loop and tighten the loop.

Sew or slst tog the 2 opposed st (slst 6) after its

done cut the yarn and make sure you leave

enough yarn to attach the ears onto the head.

Place the ears at round 34 of the head with

4 sc between.


Head marking

Make with white yarn a foundation chain of 2 and start in the 2th ch from hook. Work 2sc inc, ch and turn work around. Round:

2. 2 sc in each st, ch, turn work around (4 sts)

3. 2sc inc, 2 sc, 2sc inc, ch, turn work around (6 sts)

4. 6 sc, ch, turn work around

5. sc2tog, 2 sc, sc2tog, ch, turn work around (4 sts)

6.-10. 4 sc, ch, turn work around (repeat 5x)

11. sc, sc2tog, sc, ch, turn work around (3 sts)

12. sc2tog, sc, ch, turn work around (2 sts)

13. sc2tog (1 sts)

Cut the yarn and make sure you leave enough yarn to sew the marking onto the head. Attach the marking between row 12 and 26.

Headcollar

The headcollar has two parts. The part around the muzzle and the part around the head. Part around the muzzle: Make with pink yarn a foundation chain of 35 and start in the 2th ch from hook. Work 34 hdc. Cut the yarn and make sure you leave enough yarn to attach the headcollar onto the head. Turn the piece to the muzzle (row 16-17) and sew both ends together. Part around the head: Make with pink yarn a foundation chain of 41 and start in the 2th chain from hook. Work 40 hdc. Cut the yarn and make sure you leave enough yarn to attach the piece onto the head.


Mane Cut of sand colored yarn strands about 15 cm tall (100 pieces approx). Knot the threads 1 by 1 onto the head. Beginning between the ears and work down to the back of the head (knot 4 wires side by side). Skip 2 rows by the headcollar (see photo for reference). For a fluffy effect, you can comb the mane with a tooth comb.

Tail In the same way knot 4 wires of sand colored yarn (35 cm approx) side by side on row 10-13 of the body. Now use two wires together during knots.
