RISIng TOuRISM IS BOOSTIng THE HOSPITaLITy SECTOR In IRan

Post-sanctions Iran offers unprecedented opportunities in

the country’s untapped hospitality and tourism sectors.

Iran has traditionally known strong internal demand for

domestic tourism, while foreign tourism has already

increased by more than 140% over the past 7 years.

The tourism market is expected to grow even more in

the years to come across all segments: business, leisure,

cultural, religious, medical, and ecotourism. Under the Iran

Vision 2025, the Iranian government has planned structural

improvements through incentives for privatization of

the tourism and hospitality sectors. It aims at attracting

20 million tourists annually by 2025 (from 5 million in

2014), and turning the tourism and hospitality sectors into

its second source of revenue after oil and gas.

These initiatives call for extensive investments into

the refurbishment and general upgrade of the existing

hospitality infrastructure and into the development

of hundreds of new hotels, restaurants, and cafes.

This requires substantial supply of equipment and

services, and the expertise of international hospitality

developers.

HORECA Iran exhibition is carefully designed, from

conception to execution, to give international firms

access to Iran’s rising hospitality market.

1 3Equipment & Supplies 2 Franchises

In the midst of a dynamic

market of developing and newly

launched hotels, restaurants,

and cafes, there is huge demand

for hospitality equipment and

supplies. These range from cost-

effective to high-quality products

and include, among others,

food and beverage, catering,

interior and design, operating,

housekeeping, back of house, and

maintenance.

Iran's hospitality market makes

a compelling case for franchises

of hotels, restaurants, and cafes:

not only is there great need for

equipment, supplies, services and

technologies, concept and design,

training and management,

but also a unique appetite for

international brands.

Horeca Iran aims to well serve this niche by dedicating a section of the exhibition to franchises, by welcoming key

Iranian stakeholders (hospitality

entrepreneurs, developers and

investors, legal counsels, etc.),

and by offering the best platform

to successfully develop franchises

in Iran.

The Iranian market recognizes the

necessity to upgrade the quality

of its services and technologies,

and to meet international

standards. Needs for hospitality-

related technology range from

hardware to software, and for

hospitality-related services such

as quality management, logistics,

professional and quality audit

and training, concept and interior

design, etc.

HORECA Iran is the country’s first and only International Trade Exhibition

specialized in Hotel, Restaurant and Cafe equipment, technologies and

services. Hosted at the Tehran International Permanent Fairground, the

exhibition combines an innovative format of showcasing, exhibiting,

networking and matchmaking. It is a unique platform for international

hospitality trade professionals to build partnerships with private and public

entities, and establish trade relations with the industry’s leading players

and decision-makers in Iran.

Currently, the tourism sector employs

476,000 Iranians, accounting for

1.9% of total employment. While

the global average is 3.6%, this

suggests that tourism can be a major

area of job creation, requiring high-level
