Once again it was an amazing experience to see the generosity of all the wonderful individuals, businesses, faith communities and other organizations who adopted a family or multiple families for the holidays. Our administration and housing offices were full of gifts throughout the month of December. The benefiting families were very grateful and full of joy to see the gifts provided for them. Many families broke into tears of happiness once they saw their gifts and said they felt extremely blessed for being able to be part of the program. They never imagined other people would care so much for them and their children. Many adult recipients shared that they were not going to be able to provide any gifts for their family this year, but because of the Adopt-a-Family Program their children had gifts to open for the holiday. We received a couple of drawings from children who wanted to share just how happy and appreciative they were to “be adopted” through the Adopt-a-Family program this year. They wrote “ Merry Christmas and thank you for my presents.” Several of the children who came to pick up their gifts with their parents broke in to tears because “Santa” did not forget themthey simply had not expected to receive any gifts and were beyond grateful. We, at Inland Valley Hope Partners, would like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who made this possible for these families! A complete list of the 2015 Adopt-a-Family donors can be found on Page 3. Who We Are ... Celebrating over 47 years of commitment, Inland Valley Hope Partners serves over 75,000 men, women and children each year through “Our House” family residential shelter; BETA, SOVA, Claremont and San Dimas food pantries; and the Pomona Farmers’ Market throughout 13 communities including Chino, Chino Hills, Claremont, Diamond Bar, La Verne, Montclair, Mt. Baldy, Ontario, Pomona, Rancho Cucamonga, San Dimas, Upland, and Walnut. The shelter houses eight families for up

to 90 days. The food pantries distribute five days worth of food per person to no and low income families. Clients may come once every 30 days. The Farmers Market operates every Saturday morning and accepts WIC and EBT cards. Begun in 1968 as the Pomona Council of Churches, today the non-profit is a collaboration of faith communities, businesses, community groups, and individuals who care about their neighbors.

Blessings ……

Happy New Year to our wonderful family of supporters!

November and December always feature a flurry of activity here at Hope Partners, and this year was no exception! In addition to our annual Adopt-a-Family program, we were blessed by so many local officials, businesses, faith communities, service clubs and individuals who rallied together to provide turkeys and other food items for our families in need during the holiday season. I’d like to share just a few donor highlights with you:

Sempra Utilities in San Dimas donated 335 bags filled with food (both holiday and staple food items) along with $500 in grocery store gift cards and $2,500 in support of our food security program! Approximately half the food bags they put together are featured in the photo to the left.

The residents of Mt San Antonio Gardens hosted a food drive and also collected more than $1,835 in monetary donations.

Golden State Foods Corp. employees hosted a holiday food drive collecting more than 700 lbs. of food for the families we serve.

Hope Partners received 117 Thanksgiving Turkeys from this year’s Operation Gobble effort through Assemblyman Chris Holden, Congresswoman Judy Chu and the San Dimas Chamber of Commerce on behalf of the San Gabriel and Golden State Water Companies. The photos to the right feature Tom Traffas of Golden State Water and Assemblyman Holden presenting the turkeys to me outside of our Claremont food pantry and Congresswoman Judy Chu and young volunteers from the Conservation Corps. posing for a photo prior to distributing their donated turkeys.

The Diamond Bar Leo Club, sponsored by the Diamond Bar Breakfast Lions Club, hosted a food drive in November. The 32 members collected a total of 241 canned food items.

I wish I had the space to highlight each and every one of you who help make a difference in the lives of the children and families we serve! Please know how much we appreciate your dedication to the mission of Hope Partners.

Blessings,

Wytske G. Visser President/CEO

Save the Date for the 20th Annual Golf Classic Title Sponsor: Pacific Western Bank

On December 22nd, Hope Partners hosted a toy giveaway with Santa at the Beta Food Pantry. Many families we serve were not able to participate in this year’s Adopt-a-Family program, but we still wanted to let them know they were not forgotten. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, 133 local children were able to receive a present (or two) plus take a picture with Santa. Thank you so much to our volunteers who helped with this effort and of course our donors who include: Brittany McMains-BPM Vocals, Claremont Pack 408, TST-Chino, Jane Barone, Kaiser Permanente-Fontana, Linda and Bob Liebing, Lorie Wright, and the Webb Schools.

Center, families wait in line to participate in this year’s Beta Christmas event; to the outside, a few of this year’s partic ipants pose for a photo with Santa.

Help the children and families Inland Valley Hope Partners serves by joining us for this year’s Golf Classic with Title Sponsor Pacific Western Bank. Taking place at the Sierra Lakes Golf Club in Fontana on May 12, 2016, proceeds from this year’s event will help

Hope Partners provide food, shelter and supportive services to thousands of local children and their families.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available at every level for this year’s event! If you would like to join us for this event or are interested in donating an item, package or basket for the auction, please contact Kami Newman at 909-622-3806 x105 or [email protected].
