Thank you! A big thank you to those Sunday School families
who joined in a time of service on April 17th. These families used their hands to work for
Christ in cleaning up the sanctuary pews, weeding the flagpole landscaping, as well as raking and disposing of 1,000s of sweet gum balls from the yard near the activity center. Your servant hearts are a blessing!
Join the Prayer Chain - Hope has a Prayer Chain, a group of men and women who share the concerns and joys of our community with the Lord in prayer. We are always happy to have more join the prayer chain. All you have to do is be willing to call one other person to share the requests that come in. To join the Prayer Chain, call Marilyn Buckmaster at 636-225-4630.
Stewardship Corner - Sixth Sunday of Easter - Acts 14:8-18 In this reading for the Sixth Sunday of Easter, we see Paul and Barnabas as they were seen by the people of Lystra after Paul healed a crippled man. Because of the peoples’ beliefs, they interpreted this miracle as a sign from their gods. They thought they should worship the apostles and offer sacrifices to them, as if they were gods. This angered both apostles, who explained that they were only human. Paul witnessed to them, pointing out that their sacrifices had no meaning to the God who had created all things, and who had shown kindness, given them rain to grow crops, provided them with food, and filled their hearts with joy. But the people had great difficulty with stopping the sacrifices. Ritual and strong traditions prevented people from understanding that there was nothing they could do that would “pay” for the FREE grace which comes from God through Jesus Christ’s supreme sacrifice for all sinners.
If you were asked to give a testimonial of the role of Christ in your life, what would you say? If you were asked what you do to care for, manage, to be a good steward of all that God has provide for you, what would you say?
