TheCommunityMealismadepossiblecommunitygroupswhoprovideandservethemealeachweek.ThecommunitymealhappenseveryMondaystartingat5:30p.m.Theteamspreparefoodforover100people,includingamainentréewithasaladorvegetables.Allmealsshouldbehearthealthy.Onlyhealthydesserts(fruit)maybeserved.Wateroranotherbeverageisalsoprovided.TeamscanbringpreparedfoodorusethefacilitiesatChristLutheran.CommunityMealTeams

ThepursuitofwellnessisacorevalueofShepherd’sHand.Ourgoalistocreateasafeenvironmentwherechangecanhappen.Volunteersworkwithparticipantsonanindividualbasistoidentifyhealthrisksanddeveloprealisticgoalstooptimizetheirhealth.OurWellnessProgramisopentothepublicandprovidestheinformationandsupportneededforpeopletomakechangesintheirdiet,activity,andlifestyletoimprovetheirhealth. DentalTeam§ Dentists,Hygienists,AssistantsandDentalscreeners–Worktogetherto

examineandtreatpatientswithanoralhealthcomplaint.Theclinicprimarilyhandlespeoplewithanacutedentalcomplaintandencouragesapublichealthphilosophywhenmakingtreatmentdecisions.

WhatPatientsCanExpectShepherd’sHandiscommittedtotreatingpatientswithrespect,communicatingwiththeminatimelymanner,andassistingwithmedical/dentalcaretothebestofourabilities.Weexpectpatientstotreatallvolunteers,staff,andfellowpatientswithrespectandfollowthesystemswehavesetinplace.

Shepherd’sHandFreeClinicPoliciesPleasereviewthefollowingclinicpolicies.Itisexpectedthateachvolunteeradheretothesestandards.DRESSCODE:Shepherd’sHanddoesnothavea“dresscode”inthesenseofmandatedattire.Wedoaskthatyoudressneat,clean,andwithmodesty.Onewaytojudgetheappropriatenessofyourattireistoaskyourselfifyoucanbend,kneel,and

movearoundwitheaseandmodesty.Volunteersareexpectedtoweartheirnametag.DEPENDABILITY:Onceyoubecomeavolunteerattheclinic,wedependonyoutobehere.Weareleftshort-handedwhenyouareunabletocome.Ifyouareunabletoworkasyouhavebeenscheduled,pleasemakeeveryefforttofindanothervolunteerworkinginyoursameareatoreplaceyou.Ifyouareunabletofindareplacement,pleasecontactthevolunteercoordinatorsotheappropriatestaffingcanbesecured.

The clinic schedule is developed quarterly. Volunteers have an opportunity makerequestsduringthedevelopmentprocess.Ingeneral,volunteersarescheduledona4-5weekrotation.NOTE:Onceontheschedule,volunteersareexpectedtomaketheirowntradesifaschedulingconflictarises.
