Since 1999, Project Linus has been hosting our annual
conference with great success. It has come to be a wonderful
family reunion with new members joining each year. We love
getting together and sharing Project Linus and personal
friendships. We encourage everyone to join us in 2016 as it will
be our last conference with the format we have been using.
Future conference dates and plans will be announced at a later
date. If you haven’t experienced EXPO, Chapter Coordinator
sessions, Jamboree and all that goes along with it, this is your
final opportunity so don’t delay!
At the end of conference, (Sunday morning) attendees will
have the opportunity to purchase supplies that we will no
longer be using, including Janome Gem sewing machines,
mats, rulers, rotary cutters, crocheting and knitting supplies,
fabrics and much more at great prices. If you are interested, be
sure to plan to stay for Sunday morning. Shipping will be
available.

Read on to learn everything you need to know!
What IS Project Linus Conference? Project Linus Conference is 4 days of education, inspiration,
fun and sharing all things Project Linus. For 17 years, we have been gathering together annually to
learn more about Project Linus, how to manage chapters, basic and new blanket making techniques,
and more. Take part in classes, booths, lectures, and networking with chapters and volunteers from
across the country.
Who can come to Project Linus Conference? Project Linus Conference is open to anyone
interested in learning more, and sharing in the Project Linus experience. Attendees must be 16 or
older. (Or have previous approval from PLHQ. We cannot accommodate small children.)
How much does it cost? Total cost for 4 days is $425.00. If you prefer to pay per day, you may
do so. See our registration form for exact pricing details.
What about hotel accommodations? Conference is being held at the Marriott Hotel and
Conference Center in Normal Illinois. You can make your reservations now by calling 309-862-9000.
Mention Project Linus. They have given us a special rate of $138.00 single or double occupancy
and are available while they last. Reservations must be made by May 22, 2016. Rooms may sell
out, so make your reservation soon.
What is the Blanket Challenge and how can I participate? The Blanket Challenge is a way
to have some fun and see how different blankets can be when made with the same fabrics. Simply
order a challenge kit on your conference registration form. For 2016 our theme is “Hooray for Holly-
wood!” and includes an 1/2 yards of 2 different Hollywood prints. Make a blanket using the chal-
lenge fabrics provided and ship your blanket to Project Linus National Headquarters by May 31,
2016. Be sure to include a note so we know where the blanket is from! Blankets will be displayed at
conference. It’s all for fun, and everyone enjoys seeing all the different and creative patterns and
styles. Blankets can also be knitted, crocheted or fleece, but try to stay within the Hollywood theme
- it’s completely up to your interpretation! Your challenge kit can be ordered on your conference
registration form.

WEDNESDAY- Opening Session/Breakfast - Half Day Classes - EXPO
Conference will begin Wednesday morning a Breakfast/Opening Session after which EXPO will be open and half day classes will begin.
THURSDAY- EXPO continues and more classes
Demonstration booths include knitting, crocheting, fleece, volunteer
gifts, quilting, and more. Also, exciting national and local vendor booths,
Project Linus Store, and many new classes to choose from.
FRIDAY—MEETINGS - LECTURES AND SYMPOSIUM
Guest speakers, PL National Headquarters news, Q & A,
chapter management and support information.
FRIDAY EVENING—BANQUET AND ENTERTAINMENT

A casual, fun and relaxing day to work on projects, try something new, or finish a project from a previous class. Sit and crochet, knit, sew, share, laugh and learn.

The Bloomington - Normal Marriott Hotel and Conference Center is located in the heart of
Normal, Illinois where you will find a vibrant and bustling
uptown with an eclectic mix of shops, restaurants and
beautiful streets for a leisurely walk. Bloomington - Normal is
also home to the Constitution Trail. The scenic 24 mile
walking and biking trail was officially dedicated on September
17, 1987 in celebration of the 200th birthday of the United States Constitution. You can pick
up the trail just steps from the Marriott Hotel.
Transportation
The Bloomington - Normal Marriott Hotel offers free shuttle service to and from the Central
Illinois Airport, located in Bloomington. Also, adjacent to the hotel is a brand new Amtrak
station with several daily routes from Union Station in Chicago. Bloomington - Normal is
located in the heart of Illinois at the intersection of Interstates 39, 55, and 74.
