SUCCESS
A BOLD SUCCESS
Thank you for making a bold investment in the future of Ball State University. Your support is now part of our history and has made Ball State Bold the most ambitious campaign ever conducted by the university. More than 65,000 donors have invested more than $210.8 million, providing the critical resources necessary for our university to continue on a path of unparalleled progress.
Your gifts will help us ensure that our bright, curious students, today and in the future, are provided with immersive learning experiences, taught by preeminent faculty on a vibrant campus.
On the following pages, you will find a list of the benefactors who contributed a minimum of $10,000 to the campaign. It includes many friends and alumni who were inspired by the university’s vision to redefine education. Just as Ball State University was built on the spirit of beneficence, the generosity of everyone who contributed to Ball State Bold has created a new foundation of success. We are deeply grateful for your commitment. On behalf of the entire Ball State University family, thank you for your support of Ball State Bold.

Our alumni and friends have given more than $210.8 million, an investment in the intellectually curious students, transformative experiences, nationally recognized faculty and programs, and vibrant campus that define Ball State University.
Investment in Transformative ExperiencesImmersive learning has revolutionized the traditional teacher-centered classroom. Our students are stretched and thoroughly prepared for the challenges and opportunities that await them as the new leaders of the 21st century.
• In the past four years, more than 12,000 students have completed over 700 immersive learning projects throughout Indiana and as far reaching as Hong Kong, Venice, and Malawi.
• Examples of nearly 1,000 external partners include Fox College Sports, First Merchants Bank, the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, NPower Indianapolis, Marsh Supermarkets, and Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent.
• Projects have been conducted with partners based in 69 Indiana counties, and their results have affected citizens in every county in our state.
Investment in the Intellectually CuriousA vibrant learning environment and competitive scholarships attract the best and brightest students to Ball State. The scholarships created through Ball State Bold will position the university as the singular choice for students seeking academic rigor and programs of distinction. Examples are:
• 133 newly endowed funds establishing new awards for freshmen—many merit-based—each created with a minimum investment of $25,000
• Emens Scholars program• 55 Bold Celebration Scholarships.
OUR GOALS WERE BOLD…

Investment in National RecognitionAttracting the leadership and talents of the finest faculty allows us to build on our reputation of academic innovation. Gifted, dedicated, passionate faculty, combined with great students and exceptional facilities, are key components in establishing nationally recognized programs. Some of the recognitions include:
• We have 28 nationally ranked or recognized programs.• U.S. News & World Report ranked Ball State 20th among the
“up-and-coming” colleges and universities in 2010.• We have received national awards from the National Wildlife Federation,
the Association for Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, and The Princeton Review for our comprehensive sustainability efforts.
• Since 2005, 41 Ball State students or recent alumni have earned 43 national scholarships and fellowships.
• The Princeton Review has named Ball State one of the best universities in the Midwest for seven years running.
Investment in a Vibrant CampusCampus buildings, facilities, and programs are more than just amenities; they facilitate transformative learning and student success. Enhancements to our facilities and campus life have strengthened the mind and body of our students. These improvements include:
• The Marilyn K. Glick Center for Glass• Edmund F. and Virginia B. Ball Honors House• Student Recreation and Wellness Center• John B. and June M. Scheumann Stadium• A. Umit Taftali Center for Capital Markets and Investing• Helen B. and Martin D. Schwartz Special Collections and Digital Complex• Dr. Joe and Alice Rinard Greenhouse.
