MakeupCauses Break outs

"Makeup will cause my face to breakout." Myquestion is what did you try? Its very easy to fall forcute packaging and not worry about whats reallyinside of a product. For the sensitive skin or womenscared to try makeup don't worry all makeup is not thesame. Try to avoid products with synthetic chemicals, artificial fragrance, and mineral oils. Also, less ismore. The more makeup you apply increases thechance of clogged pores that triggers breakouts.Keeping clean brushes is a must, and havingdisposables applicators are even better.

Dark circles

Not all legends are false. Makeup could cause underthe eyes to darken if left on while sleeping or for longhours at a time. Some eye makeup causes allergies andtherefore inflammation which enlarges the tiny bloodvessels beneath the eyes. These swollen blood vesselspress against the thin under eye skin and the dark colorshows through. Cleansing your eyes from makeup atnight can aid in not getting dark circles.

Does not make you look natural

Many love to say they prefer to look natural andmakeup causes a person to look cake faced. The cakefaced individuals are usually drag queens, celebritieson red carpets or people who do not know how toapply makeup correctly. Less is more, remember.Moisturizers and sheer coverage powder foundationsare best for a natural look.

It takes hours to apply

Unless you are trying to get ready for an event, aneveryday makeup look can be achieved in five minutesor less. At the end of the day we want to coverredness, enhance our eyes, and have a sexy pout forselfies. Just apply foundation (liquid, powder), aplumping mascara, and a cute lip color of your choice. If you have extra time just pat on a light blush andyou're good to go. It is not as complicated as youtubebloggers make it seem.

Filled with chemicals

A lot of women prefer to not deal with makeupbecause of the many cancerous chemicals found in

them. Which is smart and a good choice for theirlifestyle. Lead is found in over 600 cosmeticsproducts. Lead could cause miscarriages, early teendevelopment, and lower fertility in men and woman. There is good news for the overly cautious becausethere are makeup brands who specialize in organiccosmetics.

Too expensive

Although many makeup junkies like myself havebundles of different brushes, high end eyeshadows, and lipsticks, it's not necessary. Most believe that youcant get a great beat face if you don't invest hundredsof dollars. Brands such as NYX offer great lipsticks, shadows, and face products at great prices and quality. For brushes three will do: One medium size stiflebrush for, foundation and blush. Crease brush for alleye needs. Small square brush for concealer or brows.

Makes you look oily

When wearing makeup you have to know your skintype, how your skin reacts to certain products. Mostwomen feel that to wear makeup they will look oily or"dewy". Now every makeup line has matte effectproducts. Not just for the face but for lips and eyes. Also, there are lotions for oily skin (oxymoron but nonthe least true).

Only insecure/self conscious women wear makeup

One thing to grind some gears are the women whopraise not wearing makeup because, "I look goodwithout it. I don't need makeup." Thats awesome, hereis ten cookies for you. Beauty is within, and nothing iswrong with enhancing yourself to make you feel evenmore beautiful. A lot of women such as Beyonce',Rihanna, even the first lady Michelle Obama wearmakeup on and off the camera. I'm 100% sure theseare some confident, self secure women.

Men don't like when women wear makeup

Most men appreciate when women wear somemakeup. Although it is said that men don't likemakeup at all on a woman. Men don't like whenmakeup is too noticeable or caked on. Which honestly, most women don't prefer that look themselves. Again, less is more.

MUA TIPSFew Tips to keep up your look….

1 ~Clean, and clear skin is best when perfecting aflawless look. Although makeup is meant to hideimperfections taking care of your skin underneathwill change your whole look.

2 ~To protect your skin from makeup use primersto protect it. It'll also give a smoother and longerlasting makeup look. Urban Decay has greatprimers for all skin types.

3 ~When choosing your eyebrow pencil orpowder shade dark haired people should go oneor two shades lighter than the color of hair. Lighthaired women should go two shades darker thanthe color of hair on their head.

3 ~When you are making those funny mascarafaces and accidentally get some on your face justlet it dry first, then remove. Its much easier andmakes less of a smudge.

4 ~Running mascara can turn a woman from vava voom to raccoon. To stop running mascarathroughout the day just apply at to the roots ofthe lash and push upward without touching thetips.

5 ~When applying blush its hard not to over doit. If this happens just take a powder brush andblend very little foundation to soften up theredness.

6 ~If you have oily skin usepowder blush. Cream or

liquid blush works best fordry or older skin. Normalskin can choose either

one.

7 Lipstick is amakeup must have. But don't let it ruinyour look by letting

it smear. Apply some face primer to set yourperfect pout color. This should have you set allnight.

8 ~The darker your complexion the deeperlipstick color would compliment you. So if a fairwoman wears light pink lips a deep complexionwoman would wear dark berry.

9 ~To avoid oily faces and also to prolongmakeup wear after applying foundation, take aKleenex or tissue and press down all over yourface to get the excess oils out.

10 Keep oil and water makeup products awayform each other. They do not like one another. If you are using a water base lotion, use a waterbase foundation. If you use a oil base foundation, use an oil base concealer. Simple.

11 ~ Do you feel your pores are enhanced afterfoundation application? If so try taking afoundation brush and move in circular motionsclockwise and counterclockwise to erase largepores in seconds. Afterwards press a loosepowder on top for a flawless look.

12 ~Use a large soft brush for powder blush. Forcream or liquid blush use your fingertips orsponge to apply.

13 ~Buy makeup with spf already in it to avoidhaving to apply extra products to your face. It'llalso protects your skin from the sun.

Why arewomen soindependent? And how many can agree with me that in today's busysociety, woman are being faced with more pressureand responsibility? In their work place and at homethey are having to take care of majority of theirfamilies needs, especially with an increased number ofsingle parent homes. Even the independence of awoman who knows in order to get further in life youmust work hard to get what you want.

But should we betightening up orloosening up? Woman are now workinglonger and harder to support theirloved ones. From every anglewoman are struggling but stillgetting the job done to maintain ahappy enjoyable home. It seems asif we all transform into

superwoman at some point of the day, and come home'beat'. Our men can be supportive advisors and helptackle a few duties off the to-do list, but lets face it, it'smostly all left up to the women.

So I decided to ask around and find out someopinions. While speaking with my sister, MelissaBrown-Sims, who has a kid and a husband at home, she stated that "Now-a-days women are independent

because naturally we feel a sense ofsecurity knowing that we can alwaysprovide for our families without havingto rely on anyone else. So if anything

were to happen to my man, I amstill able to hold it down!"Women love the satisfaction ofgetting the help they need

without having to saying a word, so we tend to want toget the job done ourselves. Because if you want the jobdone, you better do it yourself. Right?

With that being said, we cansometimes assume someone will comerunning to our rescue like a fairy talebut truth

is we should open up more in the little things we needassistance with,

which still gives you independence while taking asmall load off your shoulders. She added that, "If youare in a relationship with someone, both parties shouldbe able to make compromise in letting the work besplit 50/50 between the two of you. You guys are ateam and both should have equal duties andresponsibility".

Yes, you may be a strong hard workerindependently but that doesn't mean you should let itdominate your life or that you have to do things alone.Being independent is a job on its own and a hard oneto keep up with which can have it's upsides anddownsides.

While speaking with my 23 year oldsingle brother with no kids, PhillipLee, he think some womanneed that security forthemselves for If they wereever to end up in a harsh situation or their men mayneed extra help with anadditional expense. "But ifyou are with a man, he should add value to what it isyou already have as If he is an added bonus!" And weall love a little bonus! "Just don't over use beingindependent or he may feel like he is not needed orwanted. So let him know you need and appreciate hishelp".

Your man should compliment you (not as in, heybabe you look nice today) but as a person, hispersonality and values should match yours. There's asaying I've read off my news feed on Facebook that, Areal women can do it all by herself but a real manwon't let her! So keep your independence while addingvalue to your relationship. For the single ladies, if aman is looking for your attention, let him offer toHELP you and not take care of all yourresponsibilities! Pg.12

“Bad Boys” are the kind of boysthat every girl is guilty offalling for. We don’t knowwhat it is about them or whywe were dumb enough to givethem a chance in the firstplace, but in the end, it happens. Instead of beingheartbroken again by the next Danny Zuko fromGrease, look for these signs and understand not onlyyour man but your urges.

1. His Charming Nature

This guy is a sweet-talker. He will tell you anything tomake you feel like you’re the only girl in the world, butremember one thing if you remember anything underthe Bad Boy Spell You’re not! Chances are he’s outthere making many other girls feel the same way.

2. Popularity

Ever wonder why it seems like he can getany girl just for being a bad boy? Heknows how to play the gamewith multiple women at a time. There’s a reason that onceyou both are in public together,he’s a different person. Heeither doesn’t want people to know hetalks to you, he doesn’t want to getcaught with you by another girl hesweet talks, or he doesn’t want to ruinhis chances with the next hot thing towalk by…or not so hot. Bad boys have no standards.

3. His Trademarks

Everyone has a trademark. For ladies, it can be yourhair, eyelashes, skin tone, or even how you dress. Thesethings make you that much more attractive. Bad Boyshave a distinct trademark that makes them all the moreattractive to us. What would he be to us without hisdimples, crooked smile, or even his car? Guys with nicecars tend to attract more women because it makes himseem more masculine. Are you attracted to him as aperson or his trademark?

4. He’s Mysterious Everygirl loves a mystery but here’s one reasonwhy you should hate mysteries. Theywill always keep you guessing!Guys that are mysteries arehard to figure out because theydon’t open up. In your mind, his one word response toyour questions means that there’s a mystery behind hisanswers. In reality, he’s not opening up to you becausehe has no intent of staying around and he wants to keepyou intrigued. If we knew everything in life, would wereally have any interest?

5. The Change.

Everyone has heard that “you can’t change people,” alltheir lives. This lesson goes out the door once a girl isput under the Bad Boy Spell. Girls want this boy tochange their “good girl” image, and the girl wants tobring out the good and soft side of the bad boy. In mostcases, a bad boy is desensitized because of all the girlshe talks to. He was heartbroken at one point, but nowhe’s changed. Ladies, don’t think you can change himback because he’s probably far gone.

He’s Fun!

These guys aren’t terrible when we like or love thembecause they keep us entertained! We can’t stop smilingwhen we talk to them or are aroundthem and it feels great. He gives youthe courage to do things you neverthought you could before and youlove it!

7. Their Attractive

He’s clearly hot! That’s why youallow him to say and do whatever he wants with you.All Bad Boys in movies are hot so is it wrong for a girlto want an everyday Wolverine or James Bond? It’sonly wrong when you get hurt.

Bad Boys are fun guys but they are not the kind of guysthat a girl should be searching for a relationship with. Ifyou just want a fling, then by all means go for it. If youdon’t want to get hurt, protect your heart and steer clearof the Bad Boy Spell.

CONDITION LIKE A PROA nice, nourishing leave-in #conditioner will be a perfect follow up for your hair-extensions maintenance routine. Spray it on or work it in using the same downward motion, brush outany remaining tangles carefully.4. LET THEM DRY NATURALLYEasier said than done, especially if we’re talking about non-removable hair pieces, butsince this is what hair stylists always suggest when asked to reveal a few secrets on howto care for hair extensions5. BLOW DRY CAREFULLYUse a low-heat setting to dry bonds and surrounding hair first then style/drythe rest of your #hair as usual.

6. GO EASY ON YOUR BONDSIn order to keep them good-looking and long lasting, you’ll need totreat them with care not only when blow drying but while styling aswell which, in plain English sounds something like this –“Do notclamp your flat iron over the bonds.”

7. STORE WITH CAREClean, condition, dry and detangle them first thenplace them in an air-tight container big enough to accommodate them perfectly.

8. TIE BACKIn case your gorgeous locks can’t be removed before sleepor intense physical activity, you can always sweep them back in a #ponytail.

Internet Dating Internet dating sites area popular source for peoplewho don’t have time to go ondates or that just want to cut tothe chase. Believe it or not,

about one in every four couples has met online. Ofcourse, there’s always the good, the bad, the ugly, andflat out weird when it comes to anything in life.

Women are notorious for fantasizing about their futures, about the perfect guy, and the white picket fence homes. With this being said, there are actually more women whoregister on online dating websites. Men however, areusually known for not being patient. The longquestionnaires that come with online dating are not reallya forte for men because psychologically, they feelthreatened. Ever noticehow a man can getfrazzled when asked aseries of questions?

Houston resident, BlakeLeblanc agrees with thisstatement a hundredpercent mainly becauseof the effects questionnaires might have in the future.“Personally, I know that when fill out anything aboutmyself, I tweak the truth and make things moreextraordinary about myself. If I ever considered datingonline, I think I would probably end p making myselfmore attractive and masculine.” Leblanc then began toexplain a very good point about these questionnaires.

“Later on down the road, say if the relationship ended upbeing a success, I would be worried that the womanwould hold the information I put on my profile againstme.” Now some people would probably think thathonesty should come first and that no one should lie onany profile. However, we are all human and sometimeshuman nature can set in and we may bend the truth a bit.Studies show that just around fifty percent of people ononline dating websites lie. Women lie ten percent morethan men do. Neither gender is innocent though. Mentend to lie about job status and how much they make.

Women lie about bra sizes, waist sizes, and age. Bothgenders are guilty of posting younger pictures ofthemselves on online websites.

Christina Malone, another Houston residenthas shared her morehopeful, but yet realisticview on internet dating.“Every women hopes tofind her prince and if thisis the way to do it, I don’tsee anything wrong withit at all. I do believe thatthe lies, the safety, and the emotional investment thatmay come with online dating are something that shouldbe expected. The people out there that take this route inlife have to live with whatever decisions they make andhave to accept the flaws that may come with thosedecisions.” Malone then shared what she would do if shehad created a profile on a dating website. “I would try tobe as honest as I could on the questionnaires. I’d wanteverything to be completely true about me becausewhatever you put out in life, it is what you get back and Ido believe in happy endings. If I were to put out anhonest profile, I would hopefully receive an honest manin return.”

Internet dating is something so common and yet sointeresting that it’s a shame to turn it into a debate.

The world is changing and being more technical. If that’swhat dating has come to, then so be it. Online dating is agreat source for people who are ready to settle down andcut to the chase. However, online dating shouldn’t belooked down upon because happy endings are possibleno matter how the beginnings start out.

Whether you wear your hair straight, braided, loose, or curly, you deserve a great hair day, everyday. That can mean cutting through myths abouthow to care for your hair.

How is African-American hair different fromother textures?

One common myth is that there is just one type ofAfrican-American hair, New York stylist EllinLaVar says. "African-American hair isn't just verykinky, coarse texture," says LaVar, who hasworked with celebrities including Angela Bassett,Naomi Campbell, Whitney Houston, Iman, SerenaWilliams, Venus Williams, and Oprah.

Though the texture may vary, says Philadelphiadermatologist Susan Taylor,MD, there are some similaritiesthat make African-Americanhair different from other types.Generally, the hair contains lesswater, grows more slowly, andbreaks more easily thanCaucasian or Asian hair.

Why is it so difficult to stylemy hair?

Product labeling can often be confusing and youdon't want to buy something that's too heavy orwrong for you.

"Look for products that describe the texture ofyour hair, not the color of your skin," LaVar says.

How often do I really need to shampoo?

Most experts say you should shampoo at leastevery 14 days. But every seven to 10 days is

actually what's recommended.

"I often have toexplain to clientsthat African- American hair needs to bewashed regularly," says West Hollywood stylist Kim Kimble. She'sworked with Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, KerryWashington, and Vanessa Williams and has a lineof hair care products.

"Bacteria can grow on the scalp without regularcleansing and that's unhealthy," Kimble says.

If you're worried about stripping moisture out ofyour hair when you wash it, LaVar suggestslathering with a moisturizing shampoo designedfor normal or dry hair andfollowing with a moisturizing conditioner.

Why does my hairkeep breaking?

When you sap moisture from your hair, itloses suppleness and is more susceptible tobreakage, LaVar says. African-American hairneeds supplemental moisture to stand up to stylingbecause it is naturally dry.

Curly textures tend to be the most vulnerable todrying out and breaking because the bends inkinky hair make it difficult for natural oils to worktheir way down the hair shaft. Pg. 21

Why does my hair keep breaking?continued...

Chemical and heat styling suck the internalmoisture from hair, making it brittle andfragile. To avoid breakage, look for heat-shielding and hydrating products that containsilicone, Taylor says. They coat the hair andhelp seal in moisture.

LaVar tells her clients to avoid productsdesigned for limp hair. Ingredients that addbody can actually strip oils and removemoisture, she says.

Experts also suggest wrapping your hair in asatin scarf or bonnet before bed to help yourhair retain moisture. Cotton fibers in yourpillowcase will wick away hydration.

Are there any moisturizers that don't feelgreasy?

"If the product feels greasy, it's probably notadding moisture inside the hair," LaVar says."You need a penetrating conditioner withlightweight oils that are absorbed rather thansit on top of the hair."

Kimble agrees. She says that lanolin or othergreasy products moisturize, but they clog thepores on your scalp and weigh hair down. Sheprefers conditioners with essential oils -- likegrape seed oil, for example -- that moisturizewithout leaving an oily residue.

LaVar says that body lotion can be a goodstand-in for a leave-in conditioner because it isdesigned to be absorbed into the skin. Rub adime-sized drop between your palms andsmooth it over the length of your hair.

Why is the hair around my templesthinning?

Experts say that braids are often the culprit ofa thinning hairline. Tight or aggressive

handling of the hair causes traction alopecia, aform of hair loss, Taylor says.

Plus, Kimble says, the weight of braids canstress the hair follicles and cause hair to fallout.

Thinning can also result from hormonalchanges, genetics, or a health condition, so youshould see a doctor as soon as you notice achange in your hair growth or texture.

Are at-home relaxers safer than salonversions?

The short answer is no. "One of the mostcommon mistakes I see is over-processing,"LaVar says. Women have the misconceptionthat no-lye relaxers are safer or that leaving arelaxer on longer helps it work better.

"You just need to relax the curl enough tobreak up the wave," she says. Leaving it onlonger leads to more damage.

"I don't advocate people doing relaxers athome," LaVar says. Experts agree: Strongchemicals need to be applied properly --without overlapping the last chemicaltreatment -- and rinsed completely.

Do-it-yourself application can be risky (andcostly), LaVar says. Without a professionalapplication, you risk hair damage that needs tobe repaired.

10 Signs of Cheating

Have you ever had acurious feeling that yourman was cheating onyou? Turning to thatstate of mind of thinkingyou need to turn intothat top notchinvestigator to find outwhat's really going onwith him. I'm sure weall, at some point, havehad a gut feeling ofdishonesty or unloyaltyfrom a partner before. Agut feeling is mostly ourkick start to alerting us

something might be wrong but it doesn't prove anything. Soafter having a stomach full of butterflies, what other cluescan you look for to help you to decide whether he may besneaking around. I have been exposed to all of these waysof men who cheat and have something to hide from theother. It's a mans way of staying in the clear till the truthcomes to light. After awhile the clues can come together tobe a hug red flag signaling to you that maybe you shouldcheck your man.

1)Reverse psychology- Some men are good atdistracting their partner to get themselves out of trouble. Agood technique they use to flip the situation from theirissue is to use reverse psychology. Flipping the attentionand all the questions from them to the other is a way forthem to take control of the argument and add confusionabout what the real issueis. It's a useful attack toease worry from their partbut adds tension to theproblem. Reversepsychology used the rightway can lead you intoanother conversationcompletely off topic to swaythe mind from the real deal.

2)Speaking around the question- A close relation toreverse psychology is speaking around the question, byanswering the question with unrelated information that

don't necessarily tell you anything you want to know. Iremember being in an argument over the phone with an exafter being very curious to know where he had beenbecause I had a feeling I was being lied to. I proceeded toquestions him, "So, I thought you were coming to pick meup at noon babe, what happened?" His response backwas, "I got busy, you know how I have a million things totake care of before I can move around like I want to. I'm stillbusy but I should be done soon and I can pick you upafterwards." Most guys like to use the term 'busy' for theirunknown activity. It tells you nothing at all but quicklyanswers your worried mind which gives him time to thinkabout what he could of been 'busy' doing. Being 'busy'allows him to throw various acts at random of what hecould of done while leaving out the important factor of,what were you doing that your not telling me.

3)No eye contact- The eyes don't lie. Because real eyes, realize, real lies. Noeye contact orshuffling of the eyesmore than the normalcould mean he ishiding something fromcoming about. It giveshim a second to thinkof an answer or tocover any sign ofuncertainty. Don'ttrust anyone whocan't look you in theeyes. They may not

know what to say at the moment or are not going to becompletely honest with you.

4) Doesn't answer/long response time- I hate having towait hours for a response from anyone who I know staysglued to their phone. Most people will always have theirphone nearby, where they can be easily reached. So whenI receive a text back or a phone call so far along that I don'teven remember what I wanted, I tend to worry and look foran explanation. There are times when we really can't get toour phones but when your around your mate and younotice that on average it takes them less than five minutesto respond in return, I get the drift that after a certain timeframe that I'm being ignored and they are probably doingsomething I wouldn't approve of.

5)Lock on his phone- Now why would anyone withnothing to hide have to maintain a lock or password ontheir phone? Do you have inappropriate pictures or texts,

S H’C

Pg. 28

Page 29: HoneyBlack Magazine

which we may sometimes receive or take. The fact that youfeel you must have a code to access your phone is adefinite sign to me that something has to be hidden. I can

understand that kidscan invade privacy andwant to play games andgo through your phoneat any time. It goes astep further when youclutch your phoneeverytime your lovercomes close or youchange the angle ofwhat can be seen whenthey walk by or that youquickly get off of yourphone when you areapproached.

6)Hangs with 'boys' alot- Its an easy escapeto get out the house todo other things. Arethey really chillin' with

the boys is the question? Friends are usually quick to takeyour side in a fight and will cover for you. If he's looking tobail out he may even invite his friends over to make it seemmore believable. You must have good trust in your partnerbut when hanging with the fellas becomes excessive withno meaning behind them, they may be using their buds asan escape route away from you, togo do other things. Every once inawhile, invite yourself. Does he everoffer for you to join? If your alwaysgetting declined then you may wantto inquire about his activities out.

7)Secretly takes calls- We knowsometimes it can get noisy aroundus and a quiet environment isalways better to take a phone call.Make sure you listen to his way ofsaying "Hello" when answering andhis tone before he leaves the room. That could be all the clue you need! How long did the call last for? Morethan likely, if it's another woman thecall will be a few minutes or less untilhe can get away. They also like tolower the volume on the call so theother voice can't be heard. Watchyour partners habits on the phone tonotice any slight changes. Fromlowering the volume, leaving theroom, names in his phone that aren'trecognizable, and heir talking tone. You can't jump to conclusions yet but you could use thesequestions to your defense to dig up more hidden info.

8)Dresses up to go nowhere important- It always feelsgood to dress up and look your best. A well put togetheroutfit can help uplift anyone during a bad day. But, is this

their normal wardrobe? Do they have an event or meetingto attend, are you both going on a date? Or is he lookingand smelling good just to go to wal-mart, a bar, or a friendshouse? When people dress up it's for 1 of 2 reasons: eitherthey are going to work or have something of importance todo or they are looking for attention from other people orthey may already have found just that. Seldomly do wepamper up for no reason at all.

9)Starts argument to leave- Men are good for leavingwhen they are involved in an argument. So what better ideato create one so he can excuse himself from being in yourpresence. When your annoyed with someone you find iteasier to cope with that person not around and being in thepresence of another person who can make you feel better.Normally someone of the opposite sex. So if a random andpointless altercation arises from his end which has himstomping out the door it could be a technique just to be withanother woman.

10)Stays out later a lot more than usual- So he stormsout on you while your heated but returns shortly after... Iwould say your still okay because a little space is neededwhen harsh words are exchanged. Clearing your mind isalways good so a short walk or drive around the block isn'tso obvious. If he feels the need to go hang with his boysand make it an all nighter, I would begin to suspect strangeactivity.

Actions out if his normal habit could be a flag to watchover. Nobody wants a man inthe prowl or with wanderingeyes. Men aren't actual dogsbut you got to keep a shortleash on your man if you planon keeping him around!Question him on his whereabouts every now and then justto get a natural reaction but beaware that he is doing the samewith you!

Skin care is one of thebiggest challenges womenface. With applying Makeupdaily clogging our pores, therays from the sun, smoking ,eating habits, and stress itseems like everything isagainst us.

There are several home remedies that can(over time) achieve the same effect as thosethat can be found in the pharmacy. A fewyears ago, my aunt managedto fade the black spots on herelbow and knees, which werecaused by friction fromexercise and resting herelbows on a desk for years. She got rid of them by simplymassaging lemon juice inthose areas and after aboutthree months, the results were remarkable. Her skin got lighter until all the black areaswere gone.

That’s the power of some of the things that wehave in nature to take care of our skin. Thebeauty of home remedies is that they are cheapand they have no side effects. The lemon andother fruits do not come with a long list of sideeffects. Below are some natural remedies forgetting rid of dark areas on the face and body. These remedies take a while to work but in theend they are worth it.

1. Lemon/Lime Juice

Recipes:

Lemon and honey rubbed on the dark spotsand as face masks.

Lemon juice, cucumber juice and rose wateron affected areas.

Lime juice and turmeric applied as a paste onface can fade suntans. This mixture can alsobe placed on elbows and knees.

2. Papaya

Papaya contains papain, an enzyme thatexfoliates the skin, encouraging production ofnew, fresher-looking skin. Papain alsoinhibits the enzyme tyrosinase, whichpigment-producing skin cells use to makemelanin. Green papaya contains more papainthan the ripe ones. However, it stings a bitwhen applied to skin. The ripe papaya worksjust as well though, so if that is all you haveaccess to, you can use it and expect results.

Recipe:

Papaya pulp rubbed onaffected areas can beapplied on the skin; thiswill remove whiteheadson skin.

The skin of the papayaalso makes for anexcellent scrub forknees and elbows.

Green papaya and lime juice pureed. Appliedto dark spots and left to sit for 15 minutes.

3. Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is exceptional when it comes to skinregeneration. That is why it is so popular as atreatment for burns, stings and scrapes. Theplant is also very effective when it comes tothe fading of dark spots.

Recipe:

Put pure aloejuice on theaffected skintwice daily.Leave the juiceon for at least 45minutes with

each treatment. Dark spots should fadewithin a month.

4. Buttermilk

Buttermilk contains lactic acid, which is analpha hydroxy acid. This natural acid is goodfor skin as it removes dead skin, dirt andexcess oil. Once the top layer of the skin isremoved, the skin appears lighter.

Recipe:

Apply buttermilk directly to dark spots using acotton ball.

Mix equal parts buttermilk with lemon juiceand apply as a face mask.

6. Vitamin E Oil

Vitamin E is an antioxidant and it has complexeffects on wound healing. Studies suggestthat it can penetrate the dermis and it stabilizes

collagenproduction.

Recipes:

Vitamin E oilmixed with castoroil and applied onpigmented areas toreduce dark spotsis also an effectivetreatment.

Vitamin E oil andaloe gel as a facemask will also work.

Tips:

1. Avoid using soap too often as it has atendency to dry the skin.

2. Drink plenty of water and eat fruits andvegetables as part of your daily diet.

3. Address the underlying cause of your darkspot condition. If your problem is acne, stress, constant insect bites or excessive sunexposure, take care of these issues beforetrying to remove the dark areas, or they willrecur.

4. Limit sun exposure while using natural fadetreatments, but discontinue use if you noticeskin irritation. Have irregularly shaped darkspots checked by a doctor to rule outmelanoma.

So many different aspects of living have changedthroughout our lives starting from the beginning ofthe new millennium.

More women are taking on more responsibilities asare men who provide for their families, but more sowomen, are becoming the dominate money makersin the family even as single parents.

The roles of women have significantly risen, allowing females to be of higher paying positions atwork with better benefits and bigger bonuses. Itfurther helps the family when planning events to bemore fun while making sure bills are paid on timewhich makes it more easy on the man.

So in order to snatch up a good job as well as agood husband, in this case, women must obtainstrong skills in communication, as well as beingwell driven in her life and focusing on what's mostimportant to her. Having the ongoing ambition to dobetter than before, and a soaring level ofconfidence. All of which I believe to be some of theassets that would track down the right husband.

I got the chance to speak with a few males on thismatter to get a real male perspective and it seemsthat men are attracted to alot more than we think. Iwas interested in knowing an actual response from aman I previously dated, so when I questioned himabout the beauty of a woman and what should awoman posses to find a good husband he respondedthat, "The dynamics of the room when she walks in,her smile, her confidence her conversation, mindand ambition. Her scent even after she leaves shestill exists like she never left the light that I see andfeel from her spirit or aura.

Every female, no matter which one has a specialunique feature that makes her, her special stamp andif she embraces it and rocks it well it makes her so

sexy. How a woman speaks and maneuvers herwords is a big turn on, the frequency combined. Hecontinues that, "The physical is vain and fades andhow most people operate in the world, that it is allwell and fine for the person to be attractive butbeauty is not in the face, the ass or breasts, beauty isthe light in the soul and that magnetism is whattruly attracts a man."

I was surprised to have received such a response, which let me further know that real men aren'tattracted to what can be seen from the outside firstbut what comes from within and other aspects thatshe gives off that cannot be seen by the eyes. Menwant something more than just the physical.

What Attracts a Man…

Pg. 43

Page 44: HoneyBlack Magazine

Deep down, a woman must fully love herself toshow she is confident enough to attract a man ofhonor. Men don't like to be told what to do but theylove a woman with guidance and a vision not justfor herself but for him as well.

They want a queen and a woman that show 'mom'qualities. A ladywho he can call hispartner and to bethere to count on tofurther push himand become hisbackbone andsupport line. Thespecial lady he can

one day call his wife. She should always be on herP's & Q's and be willing to assist her man in anysituation.

Men love women who can also obtain goodhygiene. Eventhough the physicalis not as important as the mentalor psychological aspects, they are stillimportant attributes men look forin the physicalmanner. So itsjust as invitingto dress properand look welcoming to your man as it is to keep him where he is.
