It was a special day for BEML on 7�� September
2019, as The Hon'ble Prime Minister of India
unveiled the indigenously built state-of-the-art
first driverless metro coach by BEML for the
upcoming Metro network in Mumbai.
The Hon'ble PM was warmly greeted by Shri Deepak
Kumar Hota CMD, BEML on arrival and briefed about
the main features of the Metro Coach. The Hon'ble
The coach is built by BEML in a record �me of 70 days.
Made of stainless-steel body the metro train will
operate on 25 KV AC trac�on and is equipped with
CCTV surveillance for passenger safety with four
doors on each side and real-�me track monitoring.
The Cars have a capacity of carrying 300 passengers
in each. In order to promote the use of bi-cycle, the
new models will provide a bi-cycle parking space for
passengers inside the coach.
PM was accompanied by Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari,
Hon'ble Governor of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra
Fadnavis, Hon'ble CM of Maharashtra and Shri
RA Rajeev, IAS., Commissioner MMRDA among
others.

Commencement of Metro Production for Mumbai Metro
Acknowledging the co-opera�on and support of DMRC & MMRDA, Shri Deepak Kumar Hota, CMD, BEML said, “The produc�on of state-of-the-art coaches for MMRDA has already started and BEML is commi�ed to deliver Metro Cars for MMRDA well within schedule with the support of our employees and execu�ves.”
Expressing sa�sfac�on for the supply of metro cars and intermediary cars as per the requirement, MD of BMRCL Shri Ajay Seth assured all support to BEML in the near future.
Congratula�ng BEML for having bagged the order for MMRDA's RS-1 project, Dr. Mangu Singh, MD, DMRC, said, “I am confident that BEML will deliver the metro cars as per the required standards.”
The produc�on of Metro Cars for MMRDA (Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority) for its MRS1 Project commenced

Mumbai line 2&7 for addi�onal 21 trainsets (126 nos.)
valued at ₹ 834 crore approx. The above order is in
addi�on to the order received from DMRC for supply of
378 metro coaches.

CMD BEML with PM's Delegation in Russia
Shri Deepak Kumar Hota CMD BEML was a part of Indian Prime Minister's Delega�on to Russia from 3rd to 6th September, 2019 to par�cipate
in the 5th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF 2019) at Vladivostok Russia, where the Hon'ble PM was the Chief Guest. The forum's programme included
business discussions with various Indian and foreign companies, from partner countries in the Asia- Pacific region and ASEAN. The main aim of the EEF is to support the economic development of Russia's Far-East and to expand interna�onal co-opera�on in the Asia – Pacific region.
CMD also met officials of R u s s i a n a n d I n d i a n
companies, aimed at promo�ng cohesive and mutually beneficial economic coopera�on across core sectors par�cularly Defence aggregates, Ground support vehicles and Mining & Construc�on equipment.

BEML CMD along with Director (Defence) visited ISRO, Head Quarters on 1�� August 2019 and had discussions with Dr K Sivan, Chairman ISRO and expressed BEML keenness to have long term business associa�on with ISRO in their upcoming programmes GSLV, PSLV & others.

Corpora�on) to indigenously assemble “DAKSH” (meaning Skill and Capability) trainer aircra� based on YAK- 152 Aircra�. In view of the major expansion of Civil Avia�on Industry coinciding with the vision of providing air connec�vity to every corner of the country, BEML is foreseeing good demand for basic trainer aircra�s in India to train pilots.
Yakovlev Design Bureau's por�olio consists of more than 200 types, out of which 100 are being in serial produc�on. The aircra� with 'Yak' emblem are permanently in serial produc�on and opera�on since 1932. The total aircra�s produced by Yak aircra� exceeds 70.000 and is the most among the Russian companies. Strategic Partnership with WIPRO Infrastructure Engineering
BEML Limited and Wipro Infrastructure Engineering (WIN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate in Aerospace, Industrial
MoU with Bharat Forge Ltd.At a func�on held at Pune on 12�� September 2019, BEML signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bharat Forge Ltd to explore opportunity to work together for Interna�onal Market Research & Development, product iden�fica�on, promo�on and subsequent export of products in accordance with the specific requirement of global customer by leveraging complementary strengths for 'Make in India' and a step towards Publ ic Pr ivate partnership.
MoU is a imed at manufacturing Defence Equipment and Aggregates for domes�c market and also for export purposes. This will help to increase the market share in defence segment.
Signing the MOU, Mr. D K Hota, CMD, BEML said, “This partnership will help both companies to make a significant contribu�on to indigenisa�on and 'Make in India' ini�a�ves of the Government of India. This will provide us access to WIPRO's capabili�es, experience, and skill. It enhances the business interests of both organiza�ons.”

Water Sprinkler for Effective Dust Suppression
As part of Environmental Management System (EMS), dust suppression on haul roads are undertaken by BEML Water
Sprinklers at Northern Coal Fields.
Manufactured by BEML for the first �me in India, the 70,000 litres (70 KL) Water Sprinkler can discharge 3000 litres of water upto a height of 85 metres in one minute. Assisted by the Hydraulic Motor, the Sprinkler has higher spreading width for effec�ve dust se�ling. In addi�on to regular features, the Sprinkler has also an emergency steering and braking system, proximity warning alarm and fire-figh�ng unit thereby adding to the overall mine safety quo�ent.
Apart from the above, the equipment has integrated parking brake. More than 21 Water Sprinklers (70 KL capacity) are working in NCL
projects at different loca�ons and equipment availability is more than 98%.
Apart from the above, BEML Water Sprinklers are working in many other Coal projects.
The facility was inaugurated by Shri Ajay Seth, IAS., MD Bengaluru Metro Rail Corpora�on (BMRCL) in the presence of Shri Deepak Kumar Hota, CMD BEML and other senior execu�ves of BEML & BMRCL at a func�on held at BEML Bengaluru Complex,.
BEML has set up a 'Bogie Trac�on Motor Run Test facility', a one of its kind for Metro at its manufacturing unit at Bangalore.
Bogie Traction Motor Run Test Facility for Metro
The facility will help in improving metro train ride quality and increases the reliability of coaches. This will run on electrical drive type for checking the drive from Trac�on Motors to Wheels.
BEML is currently supplying world class metro cars to Kolkata and Mumbai in addi�on to cars already supplied to Bangalore, Delhi and Jaipur. BEML is the leading manufacturer with a 48% market share in Indian Metro segment.

In order to mi�gate the looming environmental crisis, BEML undertook a massive tree planta�on drive at its KGF Complex with a target of plan�ng
10,000 saplings in the current season.
At a func�on held at KGF Complex, Shri Deepak Kumar Hota, CMD, BEML inaugurated the planta�on drive in the presence of Func�onal Directors – Shri RH Muralidhara, Director (Defence), Shri Suraj Prakash, Director (Finance), Shri M.V. Rajasekhar, Director (Mining & Construc�on) and other Senior Execu�ves of the Company.
Afforestation Drive at KGF Complex, A 'Go Green' Initiative
To begin with 1000 Nos. saplings of assorted varie�es of fruit bearing plants were planted with the inten�on to preserve flora, fauna and maintain ecological balance in and around Kolar Gold Fields.
BEML's mission is to preserve the ecological system with afforesta�on drives, Go-Green ini�a�ve through wind mill, solar and bio-gas, conserva�on of water through rain water harves�ng. BEML dispensed with single serve plas�c water bo�els since December 2016.

Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations
A Skit to eradicate social evils
150�� Birth Anniversary of The Mahatma was celebrated in a befi�ng manner across all its Offices and Complexes.
While recalling Gandhiji's principles and his ideals, Shri Hota said, “Let us pledge for contribu�ng towards a healthier environment by not using single- use plas�c in all walks of life.”
Shri Deepak Kumar Hota, CMD BEML who was the Chief Guest at Mysore garlanded the 'Father of the Na�on' Mahatma Gandhi's portrait and paid floral tributes.
Gandhiji's favorite bhajans were sung and Swachhta programmes were also organized to create awareness on cleanliness. Skits were enacted to educate on environmental hazards, safe driving and elimina�on of social evils. Large number of employees and execu�ves took part in the programmes.
On this occasion a short AV was released by Shri Hota on BEML's contribu�on towards sustainable development goals and environmental concerns in line with Gandhiji's vision for a be�er society. The film was dedicated to the Mahatma.
At Mysore Complex
International Yoga Day
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Hota said, “Prac�cing Yoga in daily life improves the health of the individual which in turn helps in increasing the produc�vity.”
The occasion marked by a Lecture Demonstra�on by Yoga experts from Isha Founda�on aimed to create awareness on the importance and benefits of Yoga in daily life.
