CPWD extends warm greetings for a happy, healthy and prosperous
New Year 2017
Honble President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee
inaugurated "Multi Storeyed Residential Towers"
for President's Estate at G-Point, New Delhi on
December 11, 2016.
Eleven storeyed residential flats have been completed in a short
period of 14 months, ahead of stipulated date of completion by two
months with state of the Art architecture and eco-friendly
features. The work has been executed by the President Estate Circle
under NDZ-1, CPWD, New Delhi.

Honble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, inaugurated the
National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) Campus at
Patalganga, Mumbai on December 24, 2016. Honble Governor of
Maharashtra, Honble Union Finance Minister, and Honble Chief
Minister, Maharashtra were among other dignitaries present on the
occasion.
NISM Campus spread over 70 acres has been developed by Western
Zone-I, CPWD, Mumbai at cost of Rs. 315 crores.

Shri J. P. Nadda, Hon'ble Union Minister for Health & Family
Welfare laid foundation stone for construction of Super Specialty
Block of Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College, Meerut, Uttar
Pradesh on December 20, 2016. The project shall be executed by the
Northern Zone-II, CPWD, Lucknow.
Shri Venkaiah Naidu, Honble Minister of Urban Development and
Shri Prakash Javadekar, Honble Minister for Human Resource
Development laid foundation stone for the work of construction of
Regional Institute of Education for NCERT at Nellore on December
27, 2016 in presence of the NCERT and CPWD Officers. The project
costing about Rs. 225 crores shall be executed by Southern Zone-VI,
CPWD, Vijayawada.

Shri Abhai Sinha, DG, CPWD called on, by her Excellency Zhabtog
Lyonpo Dorji Choden, Hon'ble Minister for Works and Human
Settlement, Royal Govt. of Bhutan.
A MoU was signed between the CPWD and the Department of
Engineering Services, Ministry of Works and Human Settlements,
Royal Govt. of Bhutan on December 23, 2016 at Thimphu, Bhutan.
Under the MoU for bilateral technical cooperation in infrastructure
engineering, CPWD will assist in promoting sustainability in the
built environment, capaci-ty building through training of Bhutanese
manpower, benchmarking building and road sec-tors besides deputing
engineering experts to Bhutan.

Shri Kambhampati Hari Babu, Honble Member of Parliament (Lok
Sabha), Visakhka-patnam inaugurated Community Hall at Pedagantyada,
Visakhkapatnam on December 30, 2016 in presence of CSR and CPWD
Officers. The building has been constructed by Southern Zone-VI,
CPWD, Vijayawada.

Shri T. S. Thakur, Honble Chief Justice of India, Supreme Court
inaugurated Cafeteria Building for Litigants in the Supreme Court
Complex on December 7, 2016. The building has been constructed by
NDZ-II, CPWD, New Delhi.

Shri R. M. Singh, Hon'ble Union Minister for Agriculture &
Farmers Welfare inaugurated Centenary Laboratory Building of
ICAR-CPCRI, Kasaragod on December 10, 2016 in pres-ence of ICAR and
CPWD officers. The building has been constructed by Southern
Zone-V, CPWD, Trivandrum.

Shri K. K. Sharma, IPS, DG, BSF inaugurated Trainee Officers
Hostel at TC&S, BSF, Hazaribagh on January 03, 2017 in presence
of BSF and CPWD officers. The building has been constructed by the
Eastern Zone-IV, CPWD, Ranchi.

2016 at Pune.

Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani, Honble Union Minister of Textiles,
inaugurated Centre of Excellence for Training Building for Central
Silk Board at Bengaluru on December 20, 2016 in presence of Shri
D.V. Sadananda Gowda, Hon'ble Union Minister of Statistics &
Program, Shri. Ajay Tamta, Hon'ble Minister of State for Textiles,
Shri Ramalinga Reddy, Hon'ble Minister of Transport, Shri K.M.
Hanumantharayappa, Chairman, CSB and CPWD Officers. The building
has been constructed by Chief Engineer, South Zone-III,
Bangalore.
Shri Prakash Javadekar, Honble Union Minister for Human Resource
Development laid foun-dation stone for construction of Kendriya
Vidyalaya, Siddharth Nagar, Uttar Pradesh on December 13, 2016. The
School building shall be constructed by the NDZ-VIII, CPWD, New
Delhi.

Shri V. S. Sunil Kumar, Honble Minister for Agriculture, Kerala
inaugurated Academic Block for College of Forestry and Agriculture
University, Trichur on December 17, 2016 in presence of University
Authorities and CPWD Officers. The building has been constructed by
Southern Zone-V, CPWD, Kerala at a cost of Rs. 6.00 crores.

Shri K Durga Pradad IPS, DG, CRPF laid foundation stone for the
work of Construction of 327 Nos. Residential Quarters and 2 Nos 180
Men Barracks at Group Centre, CRPF, Yelahanka, Bangalore on
December 31, 2016. The building shall be constructed by Southern
Zone-III , CPWD, Bangalore.

Shri K. K. Sharma, IPS, DG, BSF inaugurated Administrative Block
for BSF at Sephanjuri, Assam on December 27, 2016 in presence of
BSF and CPWD Officers. The building has been constructed by
North-Eastern Zone II, CPWD, Agartala.
Prof. Indranil Manna, Director, IIT Kanpur inaugurated Girls
Hostel (Nivedita Hall) for IISER Kolkata on December 15, 2016 in
the presence of Institute Authorities and CPWD officers. The
building has been constructed by Eastern Zone I, CPWD, Kolkata at a
cost of Rs. 25 crores.

Shri K. K. Sharma, DG BSF laid foundation stone for the work of
construction of Officers Institute (G+11 storied) at Rajarhaat
Kolkata on December 28, 2016 BSF and CPWD. The project shall be
constructed by Eastern Zone-I, CPWD, Kolkata.
Prof. R N Mukherjee, Director, IISER Kolkata inaugurated
Laboratory Block Extension Ph-II (Teaching & Research Complex)
for IISER Kolkata on December 15, 2016. The building has been
constructed by Eastern Zone-I, CPWD, Kolkata at a cost of Rs. 35
crores.

Present Work Portfolio
Total about 2100 construction works
amounting to 25000 crores and mainte-
nance works amounting to 700 crores are in
progress.
New sanctions for construction works
amounting to 7700 crores and for mainte-
nance works amounting to 800 crores
received. The works are being awarded.
About 2500 construction works & 1000
maintenance works amounting to 12500
crores & 240 crores respectively completed
during 2016-17 upto 31.12.2016.
PEs for more than 4000 works amounting to
26000 crores submitted to the clients, for
which sanctions are awaited.

New MOUs
A MoU signed between CPWD and IIT Patna for construction of
Phase-II buildings
and allied infrastructure works. The Phase-II works costing
about Rs. 237 crores
shall be executed by the Chief Project manager, IIT Patna
Project Zone, CPWD
Patna with in a period of 30 months. CPWD has already
constructed Residential
complex of IIT Patna costing Rs. 195 crores, which is being used
by the Institution.
