What are the Crest Awards?

• CREST is a project-based awards scheme for the STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and maths).

• It links the personal passions of students to curriculum-based learning. 

• UCAS endorse CREST Awards for inclusion in students’ personal statements – they’re well regarded, high-quality and a tangible recognition of success.

What your are going to do!Outcomes Success Criteria• Identify a question or

problem that you want to solve

• It could be an interesting theory or question that you would like to investigate or a ‘Myth Busting’ activity

• Conduct research into the topic

• Use a range of sources and keep a record of all the sources that you use

• Plan and conduct an investigation to help you solve the question or problem

• This could be a safe* practical investigation or a survey/questionnaire. Make sure the findings are reliable though

• Report the findings of the research and investigation

• Include a clear outline of your findings and analysis of the data you have collected

• Evaluate the strength of your findings

• Consider whether the data is reliable or whether you would change any of the methodology that you used

• Produce a Learning Log • Give a breakdown of the 10 hours of work that you have conducted
