Homework Project
As part of the topic Gallery Rebels, children in Y5 will be learning about famous artists and their work.
For their homework project this term, we would like to children to design a sculpture in the style of Dada artists. (see below). You can design or make your model from whatever materials you wish. For example, you might want to make it out of recyclable materials or clay or even wood, but try to be creative as you can!
The deadline for this homework is: 11 th
December 2017

Gallery Rebels
Literacy Developing comprehension skills,
answering 2-3 mark questions.
Biography about Salvador Dali
Studying famous poets.
Poetry
Adverbs, adverbial phrases, prepositional phrases.
Art
Researching a range of famous artists.
Looking closely at the work of Vincent Van Gogh and copying his techniques.
Look at techniques such as blending with a range of materials.
Numeracy Multiplication and division. Word problems using all 4
operations. Perform mental calculations. Illustrating and naming parts
of circles. Compare and classify
geometric shapes. Find angles in triangles,
quadrilaterals and regular polygons.
Recognise angles where they meet at a point.
Geography Identifying the different polar-regions.
Looking at the habitat of animals that live in these regions.
Investigating the climate and what effect changes to the climate can have.
Science- Light Looking at how light travels.
How shadows are formed
Exploring how we see objects
Music Guitar lessons.
Physical Education
Basketball
Things to remember: PE Monday and Tuesday – PE kit to be kept
in school all week (outdoor kit will be required)
Learn multiplication and division facts. Spellings - sent home on Friday to be learnt
for test on the following Friday Please listen to your child read 3 times per
week. Reading records back on Friday please and remember to try to complete your ‘Book Bingo’ card.
