Math Help• To find equivalent fractions: multiply the fraction by 2/2, 3/3, 4/4, etc.
• To simplify fractions: divide by 2/2, 3/3, 4/4, etc.
• To add or subtract fractions with like denominators, simply add or subtract the numerators.
• To add or subtract fractions with different denominators, first find equivalent fractions with like denominators, then add or subtract the numerators.
• To multiply fractions: multiply both the numerator and the denominator.
• Now, simplify .
• To change fractions to decimals: numerator ÷ denominator = decimal
• The first two digits of the decimal becomes the percent.
• Example: 0.3 = 0.30 = 30%
• Improper fractions are fractions with a numerator greater than the denominator. Example:
• A mixed number includes a whole number and a fraction. Example:
• To turn an improper fraction into a mixed number, numerator ÷ denominator, and the remainder is the new numerator.
• To change a mixed number into an improper fraction, multiply the denominator X the whole number, then add the numerator.
