COMMUNITY SPECIAL EVENTS OCTOBER, NOVEMBER, DECEMBER
OCTOBER **Halloween**
Halloween is on Monday, October 31st, and we invite you to join us that evening at 6pm at our Community Pool/Tennis area to begin Trick or Treating. Last year was a great success! The kids were able to show off their costumes and we all had a wonderful time walking around the neighborhood together. We would very much like this tradition to continue for years to come. If you are participating and handing out goodies for the kids that night please, make sure your front entrance/porch lights are ON. For those families that DON’T celebrate Halloween or will not be home on Monday between 6pm and 8pm, please make sure your porch light is OFF. Kids will only stop at houses with a lighted porch/entrance.
NOVEMBER **Thanksgiving**
We would like to do something new in
our community. In November, we
would like to encourage you to
You can do this by
giving your neighbor a card or note
with cookies, plant, cake, meal or any-
thing else creative, letting them know
how much you appreciate them. It’s a
great way to build better relations and
improve our community environment.
DECEMBER—HOLIDAY SEASON
This year, VNC plans to have a Holiday Community Party (weather per-mitting) on Sunday, December 18th, in the Community Pool/Tennis
Parking area. Also, this year we want to start a friendly and fun compe-tition amongst neighbors and we want everyone to compete for a
chance to be named THE BEST HOLIDAY YARD DÉCOR.
We will pass out ballots one week before the party to vote for your fa-vorite yard. We will collect and tally ballots at the party and the winner will be announced! The winner will receive a beautiful sign to be placed in their yard for the rest of the month so EVERYONE knows you WON! :-)
Please check the community web page for more details regarding the
compe77on and the party as we get closer to the date.

ANNUAL DUES INCREASE—CIVIC AND FULL MEMBERS I hope everyone is enjoying the many improvements to our community and the increase in communication, neighborhood activities and the value of our homes! VNC HOA Board is very proud and excited to see these changes. We are also, very happy with the increased participation and involvement with the community events. I think we all can agree that we can see and feel the difference in this community! I also think that we all can agree that our subdivision infrastructure is aging and we need to make the neces-sary investment in it if we are to continue enjoying the benefits residents currently enjoy. The ever-increasing costs of services to our community including lawn care of common areas, insurance costs, maintenance fees and community events are but a few of the necessary expenses paid for with HOA Mem-ber's dues. Unfortunately, the amount we annually collect from current paying members is not enough to maintain and continue being relevant within our area. Two years ago, the HOA Board voted to increase the dues to each Full Membership by $25 per year. This year, we voted to increase the dues to each Civic Membership by $25 per year as well for the next 3 years.
Please know this was not an easy decision, but it was a necessary and unanimous one. The Board is working
very hard to implement a strategy of prudent cost control and containment of our operating budget while
helping our community thrive. Please note that even a=er this increase, VNC HOA Member's Dues are one
of the lowest dues paid by HOA members in neighborhoods around the North East Cobb area. Last, we would like to encourage Associate Members to consider becoming a Civic or Full member or consid-er making a financial contribution to your community. Any contribution is voluntary and will be greatly ap-preciated. To recap, in 2017, our HOA Annual dues will be as follow:
Please contact your HOA Board at [email protected] if you have any ques4ons.
