Homeland Protection Workshop SeriesThe Homeland Protection Workshop Series is one of the many workshops conducted at MIT Lincoln Laboratory as part of the Laboratory’s efforts to facilitate technology transfer. This workshop is open to federal, state, and local government employees and their designees. Other parties, such as those from commercial industry and academia, must receive an invitation from MIT Lincoln Laboratory. To request an invitation, email [email protected]. Space is limited. A preliminary agenda of the workshop program is enclosed.
SecurityThis workshop series is by invitation only. The first and second workshops will be held at the SECRET/NOFORN level and the third workshop will be held at the UNCLASSIFIED level. The instructions for passing clearances will be provided to those attending the first and second workshops after registration and payment have been received. Please register early to allow time for the clearance paperwork to be processed by your Security Department.
Badges. There is a 100% picture ID check for badge issuance. Badges are to be picked up at the Security Desk each morning and returned each night before you leave. Badges may not be taken outside of the auditorium area.
Notetaking Policy. All classified notes must be taken in a classified notebook. You will be required to provide your organization’s cage code/classified mailing address in order to have your classified notebook mailed back to you after the workshop.
Personal cameras, including camera/video phones, and recording devices are not permitted in the facility. For further information or assistance regarding security, please see the Security and/or Registration Desk.
Wireless Devices/Bags. Cell phones, laptops, PEDs (personal electronic devices), and bags (backpacks, pocketbooks, and briefcases) are not permitted in the auditorium. It is recom- mended that you not bring these items into the Laboratory.
Registration ProcessAdvance notification of attendance is required. Please register online at https://conferences.LL.mit.edu/hpws/. This website is password protected with the password hpWS?2018! (case sensitive). The registration fee is $450. There is an early bird registration fee of $400 for those who register prior to May 18th. There is a special rate of $200 for those attending the unclassified workshop only. Payment must be made by credit card at the time of registration. The registration deadline is June 22, 2018.

Cancellation PolicyThere is a $25 processing fee for all cancellations, which must be received by email to [email protected] no later than June 8, 2018. Refunds for cancellations received by the deadline will be processed approximately two weeks after the event. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received after June 8, 2018. Substitutions that meet all security requirements are welcome in lieu of cancellations.
ReceptionFollowing the presentations on Tuesday, June 26, a reception with light appetizers and cash bar is planned. The reception is included in the registration fee.
AccommodationsAll individuals are responsible for making their own hotel reservations.
For information on local hotels, please see the hotel listing included in this package. Reservations should be arranged directly with the hotel of your choice.
TransportationTransportation will be the responsibility of the attendees.
TaxicabThe usual fare from Logan Airport to Lexington is about $85. It is suggested that the driver be asked to quote a rate in advance.
Entrance to the LaboratoryMIT Lincoln Laboratory is located on Hanscom Air Force Base. To avoid delays, use the Lincoln Laboratory gate at 244 Wood Street, Lexington, MA. A valid identification with a photograph will be required for all occupants in your vehicle when you get to the gate.
