Secretary Designee Kolar Message Wisconsin Veterans Home at Union Grove February 2020 Homefront Newsletter As we wrap up a great year, I reflect on these past 12 month and thank those who have made my first year as WDVA Secretary a memorable one. The Union Grove staff who work tirelessly to create a warm and open environment for our veterans and fami- lies are the champions and heroes this holiday season. Without their continued work providing medical services, recreational opportunities, and more, our success would not be achievable. This year, between volunteers and staff, you supported dozens of events to keep morale and spirits high. From hosting fishing trips on Wind Lake to celebrating Valentines Day with a special Sweetheart Luncheon, everything you do here is valued and appreciated by the veterans you take care of every day. I am also thankful for the veterans and their families who have chosen to make the Wisconsin Veterans Home at Union Grove their home. We are honored to provide professional and passionate care to our members each and every day. We are grateful for your service to this country and so pleased you have chosen us. As we wrap up a great year, I reflect on these past 12 month and thank those who

have made my first year as WDVA Secretary a memorable one. The Union Grove staff

who work tirelessly to create a warm and open environment for our veterans and fami-

lies are the champions and heroes this holiday season. Without their continued work

providing medical services, recreational opportunities, and more, our success would not

be achievable. This year, between volunteers and staff, you supported dozens of events

to keep morale and spirits high. From hosting fishing trips on Wind Lake to celebrating

Valentine’s Day with a special Sweetheart Luncheon, everything you do here is valued and appreciated

by the veterans you take care of every day. I am also thankful for the veterans and their families who

have chosen to make the Wisconsin Veterans Home at Union Grove their home. We are honored to

provide professional and passionate care to our members each and every day. We are grateful for your

service to this country and so pleased you have chosen us.

Yours in Service,

Mary M. Kolar WDVA Secretary-designee

Department of Veterans Affairs

Wisconsin Veterans Home at UG

21425G Spring St

Union Grove, WI 53182

One of our major responsibilities at the Wis-consin Department of Veterans Affairs is providing 24-hour skilled nursing care to our nation's heroes. The WDVA is proud of the three Veterans’ homes we operate – Chippewa Falls, King and Union Grove - serving nearly 1,000 Veterans and their spouses.

The Wisconsin Veterans Homes are among the best in the country, boasting an excel-lent safety record and the highest quality of care ratings. Our homes are very popular among Wisconsin's Veterans, evidenced by the occupancy levels and waiting lists asso-ciated with each home, and our staff reten-tion rates that exceed those of comparable facilities across the state.

We are here to serve those who have served us all.
