Children’s Summer Activities

Founded in 1954 in Fayetteville, Putt-Putt® cost only 25¢ per round back then! As the world’s first and only copyrighted and branded miniature golf game, all courses were built to exact standards to create a game enjoyed by children and adults alike. This year on Homecoming Saturday, we’re inviting everyone to meet at Burlington’s Putt-Putt Fun Center at 1340 North Church Street. We will divide into teams of four, and we’ll have a great time! The price is a little more than 25¢ these days, but one round of Putt-Putt plus pizza & ice cream will cost $8.50/person. All ages are encouraged to come out and enjoy a great Saturday evening together! A sign up sheet is available on the table

in the middle hallway.

In my first newsletter article as your pastor, I wrote: I want to thank you for the warmth and hospitality you have shown us. We are truly blessed to be a part of such a loving church family. I believe the Psalmist said it best: “Praise the Lord! O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his love and faithfulness endures forever.” Four years later, those words still hold true. Whitney, Carter, Parker and I continue to be blessed by you in more ways than I could possibly name. I have no words to fully express our gratitude. You have welcomed us into your homes. You have visited with us in our home. You have celebrated with us in times of great joy; you have grieved with us in times of great sad-ness. You have cared for, nurtured, and encouraged our boys; you have supported and affirmed Whitney and me. You have shown us incredible warmth and hospitality, patience and grace, kindness and generosity, friendship and love. Through the time we have spent and love we have shared, you have become more than a church family—you are our family. To say that we are sad to say goodbye would be a tremendous understatement. We truly believe God is calling us to go, but we have no reason to leave. Through each of you and the work of First Baptist Graham, we have experienced the love and presence of Christ in powerful ways. For that gift we are eternally grateful; for the future of that work through each of you, we are excited. God has great things in store for you and the ministry of First Baptist Graham. Echo-ing Paul’s words to the Philippians: Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God, con-stantly praying with joy in every one of my prayers for all of you, because of your partnership in sharing the gospel from the first day until now. I am confident of this, that the God who be-gan a good work among you will continue this work until the day when Christ Jesus returns. (Philippians 1:1-6) In the coming days, our time together will certainly transition, but the love we share, the rela-tionships we have made, and the friendships we have built, will continue. Whitney, Carter, Par-ker and I love you dearly. As we remember these precious days with you and look forward to connecting with you in days to come, I believe the Psalmist said it best: “Praise the Lord! O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his love and faithfulness endures forever.”

FROM OUR PASTOR Rev. Travis Russell
