Homecoming– Abdullah Ibrahim

A simple arrangement of a piece by Abdullah Ibrahim. In the arrangement below, the top line is the melody line,

and the second line a mirror of the melody, starting a third above. The limited note range is ideal for beginner

instrumentalists and is best taught aurally first to avoid having to read the tricky syncopated rhythms. The simple

chord sequence could be played on a piano or guitar, or use the backing track available to create an authentic

backing accompaniment feel for the players to work with.
