Research Projects (Major Grants/Research Collaboration)
o Ministry of Consumer Affairs—Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale
Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH (German Development Organisation) Project “The
Experiences of Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices Act, 1969 vis-à-vis
Enforcement of Unfair Trade Practices in India”. Completed the research project in
November 2013. The outcome of the project is the report to be submitted to the Ministry
of Consumer Affairs which results in contribution as a major policy document of the

Central Government.
o Ministry of Human Resource Development research project to draft Copyright Rules
2012. I was a member of the Drafting Committee consisting of four members who
drafted the entire Rules known as Copyright Rules 2012.
o Ministry of Human Resource Development research project to find out the most suitable
position that India and developing countries should take while finalising WIPO Treaties
on Copyright. Participated in SCCR 22 held from June 15 to June 24, 2011 in Geneva to
negotiate the Treaties on behalf of India.
o I received an individual research project grant from the Max Planck Institute of
Intellectual Property and Competition Law, Munich, Germany. The research project was
undertaken to explore Licensing of Intellectual Property during the period: November
2008 to June 2009.
o While working for the Indian Law Institute I was co-investigator of various research
projects funded by Ministries of Human Resources Development and Information
Technology, Government of India. In this research grant the tasks that were
accomplished were: production of CDs on Cyber Laws, Organisation of various seminars
and workshops on Intellectual Property and Cyber Laws and designing of courses.
